Friday, March 1, 1912 From the Miami Record Herald: Ed HOLDEN, constable of Wyandott, brought in three men the first of the week, charged with breaking into CROW’s store in that town. They are Frank TAYLOR, Patrick McKEE and Jack ODELL, and were lodged in jail pending preliminary. Monday, Marshal Barlow GEE turned in James HARRIS for burglarizing the Frisco depot. LOCAL NEWS Johnson FALLING and wife were visiting in Seneca over Sunday. Mrs. W.B. DENNIS and Mrs. Jim MILLER were Afton visitors Friday last. J.E. GOODMAN of North Missouri was visiting his brother, G.C., east of town the latter part of last week. Grandma ANDERSON is reported quite sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe SLONIKER, near Diamond, Mo. Mrs. D.A. VENICE and daughter, Grace, left last Friday for a visit at Colfax, Ind. A letter from Orvile COLE at Oklahoma City, says he is getting along fine in school but don’t know when he will be home. W.M. MARSHALL has us send the News to his son at Mitchelville, Ia. Friends of Rev. and Mrs. JONES, ex-pastor of the Methodist church here, will be proud to hear that they have another boy in their home which tipped the scales at 12 pounds and 2 ounces. James CROCKETT and daughter, Miss Jessie, left Saturday evening for Norwood, Mo., in response to a telegram announcing the serious illness of his daughter, Ethel, of that place. A card received from them after their arrival bore the sad news of her death. The deceased had many friends in Fairland who will be pained to learn of her sudden death.
