Friday, May 24, 1912 Mr. Newport’s Sister Weds The Herald of Guymon, Okla. Gives the announcement of the marriage at that place of Miss Sarah Ethel NEWPORT to Mr. Jas. J. JONES, which took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. NEWPORT at 7:30 o’clock last Sunday evening. The Herald says it was a very pretty home wedding and was witnessed by about fifty friends of the contracting parties. Teachers are Elected At meeting of the school board Wednesday, teacherrs for the city school were elected for the coming school year as follows: Superintendent, C.W. PRIOR, Fairland; teachers, Miss Nellie RYCROFT, Fairland, Miss Edna WILLIAMS, Tiff City, Mo., Mrs. Pearla SPLANN, Miss Lyle DUMAS, Miss Sybil CONNOLLY, and Miss Della JAMES, all of Fairland. Mrs. SPLANN and Miss JAMES were the only new teachers elected. Local News The Katy Limited killed a valuable calf belonging to Clyde SHEPHERD Saturday morning.
