HAMMONDS on last Sunday evening after church, occurred the wedding of Mr. Frank SHOCKLEY and Miss Bessie McMINN, Rev. D.C. CARL of the Baptist church, officiating. Both are well known young people of the town. We have not learned of their plans but presume they will make their home in Fairland. The second wedding of the week occurred on Monday afternoon, when Mr. Henry NIDIFFER, better known by his friends as "Drake" and Miss Veda WELCH, south of town, were united in wedlock by Rev. CARL. The license for this union was issued at Grove, and it was necessary the ceremony be performed in Delaware county, so in company with a few friends and the minister, the happy couple drove to the county line about six miles south of town and were married in the shade of a black jaak tree. Drake thinks that’s just as good as a mansion and so do we. DEATH (This was under "Shiloh News") On the 20th of June, the death angle visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. ENGLAND and took little Opal to that home above. It is so hard to give those little ones up, but God’s will be done—not ours. Farewell little Opal, but not forever. We hope to meet again where sickness and death is no more. –Jessie McFARLAND SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CHOSEN At a meeting of the Board of Education last Friday, Prof. John JACKSON of Vinita was chosen as principal of our public school for the coming year.
