She was in as good health as usual, and was talking about the fine corn by the roadside, when she suddenly dropped over in the wagon and expired without uttering a word. Her remains were brought to this place for burial, and interment was made in the city cemetery about noon Sunday. Rev. JONES conducted a short service at the cemetery. The deceased was the other of nine living children, six being present at her funeral, including Mrs. McMINN, Mrs. Tom GIBSON, and Sam BAIN, of this place, two sons of Republic, Mo., and a daughter of Binger, Okla. The News extends sympathies. NOAH-ALLEN MARRIAGE J.C. NOAH and Miss Maggie ALLEN of Oseuma, went to Vinita last Sunday where they were united in holy wedlock. Mr. NOAH is one of Ottawa county’s popular young teachers and Miss ALLEN is the oldest daughter of J.W. ALLEN of near Oseuma. The News congratulates. BIRTHS From the Grove News we learn that Mr. and Mrs. Isaac NIDIFFER are the proud parents of a new born 10 pound boy. LOCAL NEWS Geo. F. BROWN of Route 1 is a new News reader. Miss Bessie HARRISON came in Tuesday to visit home folks. Mart MILLER of Route 1, advances his dues for another year. Wm. DRY and wife came in the first of the week from Colorado to visit friends. A.H. POTTER had shipping tags printed at this office this week. Miss Della WOODSON was an Afton visitor, Wednesday. C.O. HOLIDAY remembered the News a dollar’s worth Tuesday. Mrs. M.L. BRIDENSTIME treated the News force this week to a basket of fine ripe peaches, which were relished very much. Many thanks. J.A. CRAWFORD and wife came in yesterday from Wilburton to visit their daughter Mrs. M. FIELDS and family. W.B. HAMILTON of Afton was at the Alluwee over Sunday. Mrs. Wm. CROTZER renews her subscription for another year. J.H. CONNOLLY was over from Miami, Sunday, with his new driving horse and buggy. Miss Ella SPROUL returned to Muskogee, Monday, after an extended visit with her parents here. John and Frank BAIN of Republic, Mo., and Mrs. JONES, of Binger, Okla., attended the funeral of their mother here last Sunday. Mrs. Rev. JONES returned from Arkansas, Saturday, accompanied by a younger sister, who will make her home with her this fall and winter. Willis, the 12 year old son of Jim CROCKET, sustained a broken arm the latter part of last week while trying to ride a calf. Better get a stick horse next time Willis. That Fred PENINGTON went to Seneca again Sunday. Rube and Clyde AUDRAIN were passengers east Monday. J.D. CROCKETT has sold his three residences on the south side to W. PENINGTON. Misses Minnie WAITS, Eula MAY and Arline DUMA, returned from Claremore Saturday. Randall AUDRAIN has recovered from a spell of sickness and has gone to Missouri on a visit. A.G. DUMAS and daughter, Miss Dixie, and Geo. RHONEMUS, went to Springfield, Monday, to buy goods. Otto CHANDLER celebrated his 13th birthday Sunday, by giving an afternoon party to about 40 of his young friends. Refreshments in the way of ice cream, cake, soda pop and peaches were served. Of course, the kids had a time. Col. BUSH’s new stock barn is nearing completion. Bob BRADLEY and Frank BARNETT were in Miami Wednesday. THOMAS is working the roads in this district. Miss Amy HELM spent Sunday with the HILL girls. Mr. and Mrs. Elmen HILL spent Sunday with Mrs. Rebecca ENGLAND. Wm. BAIN and Miss Gertie FRANKLIN spent Sunday with Miss Alma ROBERTS. Mr. and Mrs. J.E. McFARLAND spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. P.L. BLACK. J.E. McFARLAND has been elected a delegate to the Sunday School Convention at Afton. Clarina and Louise KORNEGAY of Vinita, visited their grandmother and other relatives here this week. OGEECHEE NEWS Mrs. McQUERY is visiting Mrs. ADAMS this week. Mrs. Maud ENGLAND visited Mrs. ADAMS, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. TRUSLER have been visiting at Wyandott. Grace and Effie HARDEN went home with Maud CLINTON, Sunday. Mrs. Anna and Jim McFARLAND visited at Aus WYFORD’s Monday. Miss Laura TRUSLER spent Sunday with Miss Edith and Lortha WYFORD. Miss Eula BRIDENSTINE spent the afternoon with Mrs. WYFORD, Sunday. Thos. CROCKETT and family spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. WYFORD. Mr. and Mrs. Percy WALKER are enjoying a visit from two young ladies of Kansas City. Mrs. WHIPKEY and family and Mrs. ADAMS, spent the afternoon with Mrs. WYFORD, Friday.
