Friday, Sept. 1, 1911 ANOTHER BURGLARY On last Friday night burglars entered the store of Campbell Bros., from a rear window by prying the iron bars apart with a scantling, and tried their skill at opening the safe. The job proved a little too hard for them, for they only succeeded in wrenching the knob off the door. The store was thoroughly gone over the next morning, but nothing could be missed, nor was there any evidence of their looking for anything except the coin. ANOTHER BUSINESS CHANGE Another business deal was effected this week in which E.T. BIRD of Ottawa, Kas., bought the east side butcher shop and grocery of L.D. GARLICK. Mr. BIRD proposes to continue the business as before except on a larger scale, with an increased stock of goods. Mr. GARLICK will probably deal in hay and grain and ship to northern markets. KICKED BY A MULE The type-setter overlooked the copy last week telling about Cecil MICKELBERRY, the 8-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. MICKELBERRY, living 7 miles south west of town, getting kicked by a mule colt on Monday of last week. The boy was kicked in the head and sustained an ugly scalp wound. He was brought to town where his wound was dressed and sewed up, and he is getting along as nicely as could be expected. A CLOSE CALL P.W.
