Harve WESTON, last Sunday afternoon at about five o’clock. The groom is a well known and very popular young man of this community. We do not know the bride, but can offer her our congratulations. They will reside at the HOUK home for the present. UP-TO-DATE CLEANER & PRESSER Mr. J.S. WICKHAM is getting some jobs done at this office this week. He has evidently come to stay with us. He has made good where others have failed. He has moved to the old Bee Hive restaurant stand, just across the street from CHERRY’s store. Drop in and see him and you will be courteously treated, and will also get your money’s worth in a business way. LOCAL NEWS NUNAMAKER has opened his lunch room again in the Ford building. S.T. TANNER visited his son at Centralia the first of the week. Dick WOODSON acts mighty bigoted since he lives in a newly painted house. L.D. LONG is putting in curbing for a walk in front of his business house. Street commissioner CHAMBERS has had a force of men at work on the streets again this week. Ross MYERS and family moved to Miami Wednesday. Scott CAMPBELL’s new concrete sidewalk looks good to us. Arthur HALLAM has accepted a position in CONNOLLY’s store. Ira THORNHILL and wife have been visiting in Missouri the past week. W.P. HOWARD is erecting a handsome modern residence in the east part of town. F.M. CONNER has moved into his property on the south side, and is a full-fledged Fairlander once more. Eli DRY’s little boy and Andy GOINS’ child, who have both been quite sick, are reported to be recovering. Miss Nellie RYCROFT has been ill this week, and Miss Jettie JAMES has been substituting for her in the school room. J.C. SHEPHERD of the firm of the Fairland Hardware Co., returned to his home Monday after a weeks stay here. He will move down in about two weeks. Mrs. Perry BEESON’s mother returned to Vinita, Monday. Jim MILLER and wife were up from their river home Sunday. F. NIDIFFER and Johnson FALLING were Vinita visitors, Monday. Roy CHAMBERS and John PRICE went to Vinita, Sunday to play ball. Bert MOORE and Sherm BRADLEY were resting up in Fairland over Sunday. A.J. THARP, the painter and paper hanger, is a new subscriber to the News. Miss Eula NIDIFFER orders the News to her sister, Mrs. Wm. MILES, at Sapulpa. Sheriff Cal. B. GORMAN was over from Miami, Saturday, to see how we were all behaving. Mr. Price MATNEY and Miss Dixie HARLAN were visiting with Y.E. McCLENDON and wife Sunday. J.B. DINWIDDIE, auctioneer of Miami, was in our town Friday last, and placed his card in the News. P.V. SUTTON and wife of Vinita were up Sunday, taking in the many improvements going on in Fairland. Mrs. J.D. CROCKETT and two children came up from Afton to spend Sunday with her sister, Mrs. C.A. HAMMONDS. Frank CONNOLLY left this week to resume his studies in Drury College at Springfield. Mrs. Fred MILBOURN has been visiting her parents in North Missouri the past week and Fred looks like he had a life sentence hanging over him. Mrs. R.E. FIRESTINE returned from Chicago, Tuesday morning. Ben COX, Grandma COX, and Mrs. Otis BEALS of Afton were visiting at Sam MAY’s Sunday. Col. A.G. BUSH returned Tuesday from a visit to Bartlesville. That new concrete walk in front of John LOWERY’s looks mighty nice. The News is glad to note that Mrs. NATION is able to be out after quite a siege of illness. G.F. MELBOURN made a trip to North Missouri the latter part of last week to see Mrs. MILBOURN. Miss Kathleen LINCOLN left Tuesday to resume her studies at Drury College at Springfield. Uncle George HOLT has been quite sick again the past week. Uncle George is getting very feeble. OGEECHEE NEWS There was a birthday dinner at Mr. McQUEARY’s Sunday. Miss Grace HARDEN went home with Alma ROBERTS, Sunday. Mrs. HOLIDAY called on Mrs. BLACKWELL one day last week. Mrs. WALLACE and son spent one day last week with Mrs. ADAMS. Mrs. WIFORD and family, and Mrs. ADAMS and family spent Sunday evening with Mrs. McQUEARY. Mrs. WALKER and Mrs. HARDEN, and W.W. BLACKWELL and boys spent Sunday evening with Mrs. BLACKWELL. SHILOH NEWS Miss Edith SKELTON spent Sunday with Miss Mary MITCHEL. Mr. and Mrs. J.A. HELM spent Sunday at J.F. ENGLAND’s. Ben BOWMAN and family visited at Len CONNER’s Monday night. A.J. McFARLAND and wife spent Sunday with John WEST and family. Mrs. J.E. McFARLAND and little grandson, Jack, have been quite sick. Quite a crowd surprised Mr. and Mrs. WILEY, Wednesday with a big dinner, it being Mr. WILEY’s 59th birthday. Mrs. Rebecca ENGLAND and little grand-daughter, Kathleen McFARLAND, is visiting in Vinita this week. Mary MITCHEL and Howard OLDHAM gave an ice cream supper last Saturday night. A large crowd attended, and an enjoyable time was had. May CHANDLER and Geo. SKELTON took the prize for sewing on a button the quickest. HUDSON CREEK Mea. John EDENS is on the sick list. Aunt Ruth WESTEN and Mrs. Jim FOUNTAIN visited Mrs. John EDEDS last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim GARMAN called on Len CONNER and family Sunday. Jim GARMAN, Sam BARGER and Chas. HOBSON attended the sale in North Ottawa last Tuesday. Mrs. Dow. FLINT and children, Jim GARMAN and wife, C. CONNER and wife, Will JAMES and family, McCLENDON and wife of Fairland, Mr. MATNEY of Grove and Miss Duck HARLIN of Denmark called at Mrs. John EDENS last Sunday.
