Pattison 1941-2005 MIAMI, Okla. - David R. Pattison, 64, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Okla. David was born January 1, 1941 to Virgil Oliver Kenneth Ray and Vernie (Carr) Pattison at Picher, Okla. and they precede him in death. He graduated from Quapaw High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force from September 22, 1961 to June 15, 1965 and served in the Army National Guard from February 20, 1974 to August 23, 1977. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Missouri Southern State University and a Master of Science in Microbiology from Pittsburg State University. He worked as an engineer at Eagle Picher in Joplin for 28 years until his retirement. He was an accomplished artist and was a member of The Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin and Art Central in Carthage. He married Ada Williams on November 19, 1976 in Grove, Oklahoma and she survives of the home. Other survivors include one son, David Ray Pattison, II and wife, Connie of Golden, Colo.; three daughters, Susan Stuckey and husband, David of Pittsburg, Kan., DeAnza Church of Bird City, Kan. and Denise Cafferty of Longmont, Colo.; two sisters, Wilma Dean LaFalier of Miami, Okla. and Billie White of Commerce, Okla. and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2005 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami and Rev. Brent Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7-8 pm, Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, northwest of Grove, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to The Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin, Mo. in care of the funeral home.
