The funeral sermon was postponed until some future date on account of the absence of a minister. The interment was in the city cemetery and was witnessed by a goodly number of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Being old and feeble she was unable to be out of her home but very little and many of ours townspeople had never formed her acquaintance, but those who had, speak of her in the highest terms. The following brief biography was obtained for publication: Rachel Goin was born in Tennessee in 1834. Moved with her parents to Illinois in 1842. Was married to Isaac Stelle in 1853. Unto this union was born eight children, four of whom as well as her aged companion, survive her. Two of her children, John and Levi Stelle, with their families, and her companion are residents of Fairland. She embraced the Christian religion and united with the Baptist church in 1861, in which faith she ever since lived and in which died. She with her husband came to this place about two and one-half years ago, bought property and located permanently. The family of the deceased, especially the aged companion who is now in his 79th year have the sympathy of the community.
