Visitation: September 03, 2002 Service: September 04, 2002 Cemetery: Woodland Cemetery Jimmy Carroll Billington was born December 23, 1926 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He was the son of Burleson Carroll and Sarah Marie (Freeze) Billington. Jimmy was raised and attended school in Cleveland as his mother and father owned and operated Marie's Flower Shop for many years. As a youth, Jimmy attended the First Baptist Church and accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of twelve. Upon completion of his schooling, Jimmy enlisted into the service of his country, serving in the United States Navy during the later stages of World War II. Jimmy returned to Tulsa after receiving his honorable discharge from the Navy and entered into a career as a painting contractor. Jimmy owned and operated his own paint contracting business for many years in the Tulsa area, painting both commercial buildings and homes. For the past several years, Jimmy has operated the business jointly with his son, Steve. Jimmy has enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life and especially loved hunting and fishing with his son. Jimmy has resided in the Tulsa area for over fifty-years and passed away on Friday, August 30, 2002 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of seventy-five years, eight months and four days. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy is survived by a son and his wife, Steve and Nancy Billington of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Christopher Billington and Regina Williams, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a great granddaughter, Katressa Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, David Billington of Lakeland, Florida; and two sisters, Margaret Beahm of Idaho Fall, Idaho and Sue McMurray of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating.
