Blackburn, longtime Cleveland area resident, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of eighty-eight years, eleven months and fifteen days. Eva was born on September 8, 1913 in Gilbert, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Alexander Freemont and Lovina Jane Molleur. Eva was raised and received her education in Gilbert. She was married to William Sanford Blackburn in Cleveland, Oklahoma on August 16, 1930. The couple have made Cleveland their home during their marriage, except for a short time when they resided in Salt Lake City. The couple had one daughter, Janette. While residing in Salt Lake City, Eva attended and graduated from beauty college. Upon returning to Cleveland, Eva operated a beauty shop (Eva's Beauty Shop) in her home for over twenty years. Eva was a faithful member of the Western Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and provided guitar lesson for many people in the community. She actually recorded a record of her singing and playing the guitar at a recording studio in Prue. Additionally, she loved sewing, quilting and painting. Eva is survived by her husband, William of seventy-two years, a daughter, Janette Hodson of Cleveland, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, three step-sisters, a grandson and great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August, 26, 2002 at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating.
