All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Cushing OK Cushing Daily Citizen January 25, 2007 10:50 am Harvey Lewis Davis Dec. 14, 1914 ~ Jan. 21, 2007 Harvey Lewis Davis was born on Dec. 14, 1914 in Pawnee County, Oklahoma to Lewis Earl Davis and Flossie Sykes Davis. He passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at the Linwood Nursing Center in Cushing, having reached the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 7 days. He married Mildred Maybell Crowley on July 2, 1934 in Yale, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2000. He was a retired post office rural carrier, minister, and swing bandleader. The Second Advent Christian Church is a denomination he and elders founded in Grapevine, Texas in 1971. Harvey is survived by one daughter Lavonne Farris of Noble, Okla., two sons; Lynn Lewis Davis, Grapevine, Texas and Darrell Lee Davis, North Richland Hills, Texas, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, two fifth generations occurring during Harvey's lifetime, plus a number of relatives and many friends. Besides his wife of 66 years, Mildred, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Flossie Davis; three sons, Harvey Leon Davis in 1935; Harvey Allen Davis in 1980, Keith Nolan Davis in 1988; two grandchildren, Jamay Farris in 1998; Dee Davis Farris in 2001; and three sisters, Leta, Doris and Jean. Services were held p.m. January 24, 2007 at the Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Okla. with Rev. Jim Shaull and Rev. Steve Ryan officiating.
