Pigg, Cleveland resident since 1982, passed away at his home south of Cleveland on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the age of sixty-seven years, nine months and eighteen days. Gordon was born on January 13, 1935 in Haslam, Texas. He was the son of John Wesley and Evie Pigg. Gordon was raised and attended school in the Texarkana area and graduated from Texarkana High School in 1954. Upon graduation from high school, Gordon attended college for a couple of years before being inducted into the service of his country in the United States Army. Gordon was honorably discharged and returned to the Texarkana area. Shortly after returning from his military service, Gordon began a career in painting. He was a self-employed and worked painting homes and buildings. He also was often employed as a sign painter. Gordon was married to Irene E. Lott on March 13, 1970. The couple made their initial home in Texarkana later moving to Padre Island, Texas. and in 1982 moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Gordon was a member of the Community Church, south of Cleveland. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy Football fan but his favorite team was the Cleveland Tigers. Gordon seldom missed a Tiger game. Gordon is survived by his wife, Irene of the home; three sons, Curtis Wayne Pigg of Dallas, Texas, Johnnie Kinnaird of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Tommie Kinnaird of Victorville, California; a daughter, Maggie Infield of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kinnaird of Skiatook, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren including, Maggie and Emily Inhofe, both of St. Louis, Missouri and Nicolas Watson of St. Louis, Missouri; a God Child, Melinda Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Cecil Pigg of Houston, Texas and a sister, June Corbett of Vidor, Texas; numerous other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2002 at the Community Church, south of Cleveland with Pastor Frank Goodman officiating.
