She passed from this life on Saturday, April 7, 2001 in Tulsa, Oklahoma having reached the age of 65 years and 5 days. She has been a lifetime resident of Pawnee, and on June 29, 1973, she married Bob Littlesun in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church, and was very proud of being a member of the Pawnee Indian War Mothers, Chapter 12. She has helped with the Pawnee PowWow Homecoming Book, and has served as the treasurer of the Veterans Monument Committee. She has worked with the youth in the boxing club, and has officiated with the AAU Golden Gloves. She retired from Munsingwear as a seamstress, and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was always open to everyone. Zella is survived by her husband, Bob Littlesun of Pawnee, Oklahoma; three children, V. Thomas Eppler of Anchorage, Alaska, Leslie Rice of Morrison, Oklahoma, and John Eppler of Morrison, Oklahoma; two brothers, Leslie Hand of Pawnee, Oklahoma and Marvin Hand of Lexington, Oklahoma; four sisters, Verlas Hawkins of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Eva Hill of Crow Agency, Montana, Phyllis Morales of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Pauline Cox of Lawton, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Joey, Devine, Osheana and Rhonda; brothers Bill Littlesun, James Littlesun and Collen Hendrick; plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Zella was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cecelia Hand; brothers George and Thomas hand; sisters Ruby, Ruth, Christine and Molly; and her grandson, Zachary Rice. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church. Interment will be at the North Indian Cemetery, with the Reverend Duane Pratt and Reverend Bruce Pratt officiating, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
