He was the son of Gilbert A. and Elizabeth Montforte. He moved with his family to a farm southeast of Cleveland at an early age, attending school in Cleveland and graduating from Cleveland High school in 1933. Upon graduation from high school, Albin moved to Balckwell until 1942 when he moved to California. He returned to Cleveland in 1949 and accepted employment with the Fogle Motor Company as an auto mechanic. He continued to work at the dealership as it changed to Cox Pontiac and then later Spess Pontiac, retiring in 1983. He later returned on a part time basis working in the parts department until the mid 1990's. Albin was married to Dorothy Emaline Dunlap on December 22, 1973 in Mannford. The couple loved to travel and went to every state except for Maine, New Hampshire, Alaska and Hawaii. Albino spent countless hours in his wood working shop making such items and book cases, tables and bread boxes, he loved spending time with his family and they all worked together to have a happy marriage. He enjoyed working puzzles and had a great love for animals, especially cats, birds and squirrels. He also enjoyed reading western novels, mainly those written by Louis Lamour. Albino was a longtime member of the first Church of the Nazarene in Cleveland. He passed away on Thurs., March 1, 2001 at the St. John Medical Center at the age of eighty-five years, nine months and fifteen days. He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Curtis and William, and his first wife, Marie G. in September 1973. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sat., March 3, 2001 at the Church of the Nazarene with Larry Keis officiating. Burial was at the Dixie-Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Albin is survived by his wife, Dorothy Monforte, of the home; children, Bill and Joan Monforte, Skiatook; John Monforte of Derby, Kan.; Sue and George Dietz, Cleveland; Bob Monforte, Cleveland; Janie and Ed Davis, Cleveland; step-children, Wilma and Max Lee, Fort Worth, Tex.; Glenn Hodson, Stockton, Calif.; Joyce and Ray Turner, Mannford; Merril and Gayle Hodson, Olive; Darrell and Barbara Hodson, Tulsa; sister Mary Hicks, Buena Park, Calif. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
