Visitation: August 24, 2002 Service: August 24, 2002 Cemetery: Bethany Cemetey Ruth Etta Long was born August 27, 1907 in Hallett, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of John Madison and Eva Agnes Miller. Ruth was raised and attended school in Hallett. Ruth was married to Phillip Lee Long on December 22, 1932 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in the Terlton area and later moved to Perry when Phillip accepted employment as a pumper for an oil company. Upon Phillip's retirement in 1968, the couple returned to Pawnee County, making their home in Cleveland. Phillip preceded her in death on May 29, 1996 after sixty-three years of marriage. After returning to Cleveland, Ruth assisted in the care of patients at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home for several years. She loved working with her hands and especially enjoyed cooking, sewing and doing embroidery work. Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church. After the death of her husband, Ruth moved to Edmond where she resided in the Bryant Nursing Center. She passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the age of ninety-four years, eleven months, and twenty-five days. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ora Miller, Nora Beyer and Leta Miller; and two brothers, John M. Miller and Richard Miller. Ruth is survived by several special nieces, nephews, cousins and two sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Bethany Cemetery in Hallett, Oklahoma with Dakota Rush officiating.
