Submitted by: Teresa Turnham, Lowe gloweman@prodigy.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Turnhams in the Stillwater area would be my Grandfather William Wiley Turnham, Sr. and my father William Wiley (Barney), Jr. The earliest Bostian in the Payne County area is Peter Alexander Bostian my GG Grandfather. His son was Charles A. Bostian the father of my Grandmother Goldie Mae Bostian, Lacy. James Henry Lacy was her husband and my grandfather on my mother's side. Bostians and Lacys are more prominent in the Perkins area. Both of my parents went to school at Elm Grove south of Stillwater in the school house that is now used as a caretakers shed for the adjacent cemetary where many of the Bostians are now buried. My father grew up as "oil field trash" as they called them back then and spent most of his time running through Ramsy oilfield. Most of the Turnhams are buried in Bixby or Wagoner except my father. He is in Knipe Cemetary, North in Perkins. Most of the Lacys are buried in the Knipe Cemetaries. Bostians are in the Elm Grove Cemetary along with Armstrongs which was my G-Grandmother Bostian's maiden name. Charles Armstrong was her father.
