All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Woodland Memorial Cemetery--Sand Springs OK Cushing Daily Citizen April 05, 2007 10:11 pm Long time resident of Perkins, Okla., Mrs. Mary Ruth Anderson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday Apr. 4, 2007 at the age of 75. She was born Feb. 6, 1932 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Floyd Ellis and Maxine Miller Ellis. Mr. Richard Anderson took Miss Mary Ruth as his bride on June 9, 1951 in Fairbanks, Alaska. From this union three sons were born. Mary has served her community in many different facets such as a nurse, supervisor for South Western Bell Telephone, a social worker for Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency, and founded the Mission of Hope Homeless Shelter. She worked closely with the Head Start program and Habitat for Humanity. Governor Brad Henry declared May 3, 2003 to be the Mary Ruth Anderson Day. Mary Ruth answered her calling in life with bringing healing and hope to the hurting people of her city. Mary Ruth's legacy can be seen the community's faces when a home is built, hope is restored and children begin to smile again. Mrs. Mary Ruth Anderson a true hero to many. Although she is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include: Her husband of fifty-five years Richard Anderson of the home, two Sons: Rick Anderson and wife Sherri of Tulsa, and Ron Anderson of Fitzhugh, Okla., one brother, Charles Carter of Edmond, Okla., two sisters: Kay Mosness of Edmond, Okla. and Rae Neal of Tulsa, Okla., four grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson of Wichita, Kan.; Hunter Anderson of Columbus, Ohio; Kristen Anderson of Dallas, Texas; and JJ Anderson Wood of Cushing, one great grandchild and a host of many longtime friends and wonderful neighbors. Her parents and one son, Randy Anderson, precede Mary in death. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Monday, Apr. 9, 2007 at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leroy Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at 2 PM at Woodland Memorial Cemetery in Sand Springs, Okla.
