Records Date: 6/17/2003 7:49:37 PM Central Daylight Time From: GaryLC60 "Nellie Pitzer Blehm's Service Set Tuesday Retired Payne and Osage County school teacher, Nellie Pitzer Blehm, died Jan. 18, 1976, at the Stillwater Nursing Center. She was 84. Her former address was 415 West Street. Her funeral is to be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Strode Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Udell W. Wolff officiating. Interment will be in the Ingalls Cemetery. She was born east of Stillwater, Oct. 5, 1890, the daughter of Charles and Ella Pitzer. She attended Council Valley rural school and later Oklahoma State University's school of Education. After teaching in the rural schools she taught in Pawhuska, Shidler, Oilton and Newkirk up to the time of her retirement in 1950. She was married to Farlin Akins, Oct. 17, 1908, in Stillwater and he was killed in World War I. She later married John Blehm, whom she was divorced from at the time of her death. She was a member of the Southern Heights United Methodist Church.
