Gilbert Beard Jr.

PAWNEE -- Gilbert Beard Jr., longtime resident of Pawnee, died Tuesday, 
April 10, 2001, in Pawnee. He was 49. 

A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, in the Pawnee Tribal 
Roundhouse in Pawnee with burial in the North Indian Cemetery under the 
direction of Poteet Funeral Home. 

Gilbert Beard Jr. was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Pawnee, the son of Gilbert 
Beard Sr. and Mabel Leading Fox Beard. He was affiliated with the Native 
American Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Kit Naomi Beard and JoAnne Carole Beard, 
both of El Reno; five sisters, Sharon Kay Beard, Johnnie Mae Tiger, Robin 
Pickering and Alba Jo Beard, all of Pawnee, and Lena Beard of Stillwater; 
three brothers, William Lee Beard of Pawnee, Lorenzo Beard of Moore and 
Jake Beard of El Reno; six granddaughters; and a number of other relatives. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kit Naomi Beard and 
Kip Naomi Beard; and a brother, Jimmy Dale Beard.
