Lena Denise Beard

STILLWATER -- Lena Denise Beard, resident of Stillwater, died Sunday, 
July 15, 2001, in Stillwater. She was 45. 

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Pawnee Indian 
Baptist Church in Pawnee with the Rev. Bruce Pratt officiating. Burial 
will be in the North Indian Cemetery under the direction of Poteet 
Funeral Home of Pawnee. 

Lena Denise Beard was born Feb. 19, 1956, in Pawnee, the daughter of 
Gilbert Beard Sr. and Mabel Leading Fox Beard. She graduated from the 
Muskogee School for the Blind in 1975 and moved to Stillwater from 
Oklahoma City in 1996. She was affiliated with the Apostolics of S
tillwater and was a member of the Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Beard of Pawnee and Kaeli 
Buffalohead of Stillwater; one son, Anthony Buffalohead of Stillwater; 
four sisters, Sharon Kay Beard, Johnnie Mae Tiger, Robin Pickering and 
Alba Jo Beard, all of Pawnee; three brothers, William Lee Beard of 
Pawnee, Lorenzo Beard of Moore and Jake Beard of El Reno; and a number 
of other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kit and Kip Naomi 
Beard; and two brothers, Jimmy Dale Beard and Gilbert Beard Jr.
