Bill was born on the family farm in Glencoe, Oklahoma, the youngest of six children. Bill and Virginia were married in Independence, Kansas, November 3, 1953. A longtime resident of Bakersfield, he worked in the oil industry for 40 years. During his lifetime he and Virginia also raised cattle in Anderson, Missouri and ostriches in Caliente, CA. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Broyles; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Susan Williams, Hanford, CA; Bob and Regina Perkins, Bakersfield, CA; Rick and Laura Broyles, Wichita, KS; daughter, Pam Hatch, Palm Desert, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Dean Simpson, Bakersfield, CA; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ester Brand, Perry, OK and Lorene Staley, Enid, OK. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Amanda Broyles; brothers, Chester and Wilber Broyles; sister, Ruth Stokes; son-in-law, Roger Hatch (6/2/04) and beloved grandson, Robert Perkins (4/27/96).
