Died June 2, 2007 at Washington Hospital, Fremont, Calif., from complications of pneumonia. Memorial service will be held June 16 at a private home in Fremont. Ashes will be spread in Santa Cruz , where he and his wife of65 years, Marguerite Bohannon, were married. The son of the late Clarence and the late Bessie Bohannon, Mr. Bohannon is survived by his wife, four children Leona Bargabus of Milpitas, Dale Bohannon of Fremont, Sharron Leonard of Newark and Sue Marinucci of Newark, also two sisters, Mary Margaret Jefferson of Sacramento and Barbara Jean Brown of San Jose, six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Mr. Bohannon moved to San Jose in 1942, then, in 1946, to Fremont's Irvington district and worked as a projectionist at the now defunct Leal Theatre. Mr. Bohannon was the founder-owner of Newark TV and Radio Service, which opened in 1953 and was the first business of its kind in the city. He retired from the business in 1996. From the late '50s to early '60s during Newark's booming years, he was a planning commissioner. He was also active in several local civic organizations, including the Lions Club and the Boy Scouts.
