Knoblock, who came to Stillwater in 1919, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1978, in Stillwater Municipal Hospital. He was 82. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Reavis Funeral Home with Ray Pyle as officiant. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemtery under direction of Reavis Funeral Home. He was born on Feb. 24, 1896, at Paris, Tex., the son of Hugh E. and Elizabeth Thurman Caperton. He served with the U.S. Army from Sept. 21, 1917 to Jan. 21, 1919. He was a member of a machine gun company with the 58th Infantry and was engaged in the Battle of Marne in 1918, where he received wounds. He came to Stillwater in 1919 and was self employed as a farmer. He was married to the former Mary Pitzer on Jan. 21, 1921, in Stillwater. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 1958. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God and the American Legion. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters. He is survived by three brothers, Richard Caperton of Houston, Tex., Dewey Caperton of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Buster Caperton of Ada, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Logan French of 513 S. Knoblock."
