Obit for Jim Chilton 
 
CLOVIS, N.M. - Jim Chilton, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996. 
 
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with  
the Rev. Wayne Fuller and the Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial will  
be in Portales Cemetery at Portales. 
 
Mr. Chilton was born in Frederick, Okla. He had farmed in the Elida area  
for more than 50 years. He married Cordelia Rogers in 1927. He was a member  
of Liberty Baptist Church at Portales. 
 
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jimmie Lou Manasco of Clovis; a  
son, Ralph Chilton of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Billie Chilton of  
Las Cruces and Leslie Chilton of Mountainair; seven grandchildren; and  
12 great-grandchildren. 
 
The family suggests memorials be to the Baptist Children1s Home at Portales.
