He was 83. The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. at the Strode Chapel in Stillwater, OK. and burial was at Newkirk Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Strode Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Fay Olan "Jack" Collins was born April 8, 1919 at Guthrie OK., the son of Fay and Grace (Pulliam) Collins. He married Lorene Kay Boyer on Feb. 28, 1940 in Newkirk. "Jack," as he was known to his friends and loved ones, worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. His job as a signal supervisor took him from Del City, OK. to Newkirk then to Newton, KS. and LaJunta, CO. and back to Newton. He worked there until he retired. He and Lorene moved to Yale to be closer to family. He was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Newkirk and Town and Country Christian Church of Yale. Survivors include his wife Lorene; a daughter Monica (Collins) Johnson and husband, Johnny R. Johnson; two grandchildren, Sabrina Raye Johnson and Charity Faye Johnson; three brothers-in-law, Victor Boyer, Wendell Boyer, Jim Boyer and John Diehm; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Boyd; John Diehm; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ina Mae Diehm, and an infant sister, Alpha Lee Collins, and a niece, Sandra Hoover.
