Haight and wife, was born in Payne County, Oklahoma in 1903. Here she resided for a short time only until she moved with her parents to Roger Mills County to make her home in the vicinity of Crawford. Her home was in that vicinity until she was ready for high school when the family moved to Cheyenne. Vera attended high school finishing with the class of 1923. The following year she taught school near Crawford. On March 1, 1924 she was married to Ralph Coon, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.S. Coon. To this union was born one child, Virgiew Mae, now five years old. She leaves to mourn her earloy departure from life, her husband, small daughter, father and mother, two brothers, Ernie and Ted, all of whom reside in Cheyenne, and a host of other relatives. Mrs. Coon was taken to an Elk City hospital on Monday February 16, 1931 she suddenly grew worse, passing from life early Saturday morning February 21, 1931in spite of all that physicians and nurses could do. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, February 22, 1931 in the Baptist church of this city in the presence of a crowd far to large to be seated in the church. Rev. G.A. Watson of Durham preached the funeral after which the body was laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery. Vera was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.S. Haight. At an early age she united with the Christian church living a consisten and devoted Christian life. Among relatives attending the funeral were Mr. Haight's parents of near Mulhall and Mr. Dixon, a brother of Mrs. Haight, and family of Vici.
