He was born Dec. 22, 1928 in Eureka, Kansas to Robert W. Cannon and Gladys Olson Cannon. He is preceded in death by his parents. He married the former Jo Ann Thornton of Madison, Kansas in 1948 and has been married for 59 years. Bob is survived by his wife Jo Ann and two children, son Mike Cannon and wife Janis of Hallettsville, Texas and daughter Debbie Charbonneau and husband Larry of Houston, Texas, and three grandchildren, Robert (Beau) Cannon, Aubra Cannon, and Jeffrey Charbonneau. He also leaves behind a brother, Philip (Bud) Cannon and his wife Doris of Tow, Texas, and a sister, Norma June Dunham of Eureka, Kansas, and their sons Craig Cannon of Boerne, Lyle Cannon of Midland, Terry Dunham of Eureka, Kansas, and Kirk Dunham of Hesston, Kansas. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews that he was very close to. After 38 years of service, Bob retired in 1986 from Phillips Pipe Line Co. as a Senior Terminal Supervisor, a job he enjoyed going to every day. He worked in Odessa and Borger, Texas, and Cushing, Oklahoma before retiring and moving to Llano in 1989. Bob has been a member of the First Christian Church in Llano since 1989 where he served as Treasurer and has been an Elder since his years at the First Christian Church in Cushing, Okla. He was a member of the Cushing Lions Club and the Llano Lions Club. He has been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 56 years. Bob enjoyed Llano senior golf on Mondays and Thursdays and will miss his friends there. He was an avid fan of the Llano Yellowjackets in all their sporting events. Growing up in the country, he loved the outdoors. Hunting with Mike, Larry, Bud, Craig, and Lyle was one of the things he looked forward to each year. He was so proud of his family and they of him. He had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, and was loved by all. Graveside service will be Saturday, Apr. 21, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Llano City Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church of Llano, officiated by Rev. Stan Wright. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Llano, Llano Memorial Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
