Conn, 89, passed away Friday, June 23, 2006, at home. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. H.J. "Red" Conn was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Bullard to Dewitt and Nina Conn. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force soon after graduating from high school and was honorably discharged Dec. 21, 1945. After working for Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company 50 years, he retired to Palestine, then spent the remaining three years in Cushing, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary "Hattie" Conn; his parents; two brothers; and one grandson. Survivors: Sister, Margaret Johns of Texas; daughters, Mary Holland, Louis Minter and husband, Donald, Janet Pinyan, all of Texas, Nina Cates and husband, Glen of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
