UNCLE DICK DROPS DEAD

Adam DuPee Suddenly Expires While Smoking His Pipe

Adam DuPee, an old resident of Stillwater, better known as 'Uncle Dick," 
dropped dead at his home in the southwestern part of the city about 1 
o'clock Thursday afternoon.

Uncle Dick had been as hearty and jolly as usual, had eaten dinner with 
his wife and a woman guest, and after the meal had gone into the kitchen 
to "take a good smoke," as he remarked.  A moment later Mrs. DuPee went 
into the kitchen and found him dead in his chair, the pipe still smoking, 
having dropped from his lips.

Adam DuPee was 84 years old.  He was a veteran of the Civil War and a 
member of the G.A.R.  His children living in Stillwater are Ed and Dick 
Dupree, Mrs. Lewis Haycraft and Mrs. Carrie Mae Tucker.  He leaves 
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The widow was the wife of 
a second marriage.

Funeral arrangements cannot yet be announced.
