All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== DuPree Rites Set Thursday Graveside services for Ricky Wayne DuPree, 27, Tulsa, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home, the Rev. Jim Gragg officiating. He died Monday, Oct. 23, 1989, at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born in Stillwater on June 28, 1952, son of Woody A. And Jessie Ardyth (Redburn) DuPree. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1970, where activities included National Honor Society, Varsity Scholar, Quill and Scroll, American Legion Outstanding Senior Boy, and editor of the school newspaper. DuPree earned a B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University in 1973 in advertising and public relations. Activities there included Phi Kappa Psi, Marketing Club, Advertising Club, O'Collegian reporter and advertisement layout assistant, and Dean's Honor Roll. He continued graduate studies in mass communications. DuPree was employed as assistant advertising manager with Montgomery Wards in Oklahoma City and Houstin, Texas. Most recently he worked in sales in Tulsa. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. DuPree is predeceased by maternal grandparents Jesse and Irene (Penny) Redburn and an infant brother. Survivors include his parents of Stillwater, two brothers, Jesse A. DuPree and Eddie R. DuPree, Tulsa; one sister, Shelley G. Skoch, Stillwater, paternal grandparents, Ed and Hazel (Johnson) DuPree, three nephews and three nieces, and Rod Stranick, Tulsa. Memorials may be made to St. John's Medical Center, 1923 S.
