All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Domstead, Virgil Monroe "Tom" Virgil ("Tom") Monroe Domstead, age 76, of Norman passed away peacefully on November 27, 2002, at the Sulphur, Oklahoma Veterans Center. He was a joy to all who knew him and a beloved husband and father. Tom was born 6- 11-26 in Mehan, OK to Royal Edward and Sylvia Rena Domstead. During WWII he served his country as a US Marine in China and the Pacific, including the Battle of Okinawa. Tom married Marlene Joy Prouty 1-11-61. Before residing in Norman, they lived for many years in the communities of Guthrie, Watonga, and Amber. He retired from Harper Oil Company in 1984. Tom was baptized November 5, 2002, by Rev. Ray Ackerman, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Sulphur, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marlene, two sons, Stan Domstead of Moore and Jon Domstead of Norman, two daughters Sherry Singleton Granbury, Texas and Yvonne Dorman of Las Vegas, Nevada, three grandsons Zachary, Grant, and Ryan, and four granddaughters Laura, Lindsay, Angela, and Brandi. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of the Sulphur Veterans Center and Victory Hospice Care for their love and care of Tom. No services scheduled at this time.
