Bernice (Qualls) Fields
 
Bernice Fields, 98, of Cushing, died Friday, May 30, 2003 at Cushing 
Regional Hospital. 

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Chapel Methodist Church in 
Boatman. The Rev. Kenneth Gable will officiate. 

Burial will follow at Bryan Chapel Cemetery in Boatman under the direction 
of Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing. 

She was born in Indian Territory on Nov. 13, 1904 to John W. and Kilby 
(Odle) Qualls. 

She married Owen G. Fields in 1923. She lived in the Boatman community 
most of her life and was active in community affairs. 

She moved to Pryor after the death of her husband. 

While living in Boatman, she attended Bryan Chapel Methodist Church and 
taught children's Sunday School classes. Later, she became a member of 
the Church of God in Pryor and continued teaching Sunday School for several 
years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; one 
sister; and one son-in-law. 

She is survived by her daughter, Louise Myers of Cushing; two grandchildren, 
George Myers Jr. and his wife, Edna, and Margaret Ann Dixon and her husband, 
Bryan,; four great-grandchildren, Emily Dixon, Bryan Dixon Jr., Debra Hyde 
and Becky Mills; and two sisters, Pearl Charles and Modest Barnes.
