He was born on Jan. 3, 1909, in Iola, Kan. to Ed and Nellie Fulton. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma and following high school, he attended Oklahoma Baptist University on football and track scholarships. He was considered to be an Olympic class athlete. He graduated from OBU in 1928. He married Alberta Hagood on Oct. 16, 1927, in Shawnee. The couple lived several places and returned to Oklahoma and settled in Cushing in 1991. He retired from the California State Lands Commission in 1974. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, working in his yard and building miniature antique furniture. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Wayne Fulton, and two sisters, Bonnie Trinkett and Margaret Ratcliff. He is survived by two children, Carl Edward Fulton and his wife Christine, and Joan Roberta Foreman, all of Cushing; one brother, Albert Fulton and his wife Mary of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, James Foreman, Shawn Balzer and Van Fulton; two great-grandchildren, Cayla Henderick and Sara Rose Balzer; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
