All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Yale Record, Thursday July 31, 1947 OSCAR PHILLIP FORD Oscar Phillip Ford the son of William P. and Lizzie Ford was born near Yale August 16, 1893 and passed away July 26, 1947. He was married in 1918 to Valora Ann Barritt, who died with an infant daughter while her husband was away overseas in World War !. He entered the service of the U. S. Army May 26, 1918 and served until October 23, 1919, spending 13 months in Siberia. Mr. Ford married Marie Louise Menzel of Marysville, Kansas, March 1, 1927 at Lamar, Colorado. To this union five children were born one of whom William Edward died at birth. He is survived by the wife, 4 children, Frederick Francis, Valera Ruth, Norvell Oscar, and Iona Newin, also his mother Mrs. W. F. Ford, all of the home. There are three brothers and 4 sisters to mourn his going. They are George Ford of Shawnee OK, William of Weiger Idaho, Frank of Yale OK, Mrs. Anna McJimsey of Wichita Kansas, Mrs. Clara Johnson of Waverly Kentucky, Mrs. Mable Boddard and Mrs. Nelda Cobble of Yale. His father and one sister Mrs. Molly Shira preceded him in death. He was an active worker Quay IOOF Lodge and Charles Lowman post #161 American Legion of Yale.
