Golden FH--Salem OR HUNTSBERRY -- Joan Amelia, passed away Monday, February 12, 2007. She was born in Wichita, KS, March 4, 1915 and was adopted as an infant by Jonathan and Julia Whiles of Cushing. She attended boarding school, which later became Cottey College, from second grade through her junior year of college. She went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University. While there, she met and later married, Marshall D. Huntsberry in 1936. They lived in Tulsa in the mid 1940's, where Marshall worked for the Gulf Oil Company and the Flint Rig Company. They moved to Billings, MT, in 1955. They returned to Tulsa in the mid 1970's, where Marshall worked for the Flint Steel Company. They were members of Southern Hills Country Club. After retirement, they moved to Salem, OR in 1988. Marshall died in 1998. Survived by: 3 children, Dr. W. Randall Huntsberry of Niwot, CO, Marsha Ann Kerr of Salem, and J. Stephen Huntsberry of Tucson; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Family Remembrance was held as family gathered to say goodbye and to be with her in her last hours.
