All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Czech National Cemetery--OKC OK Krivanek, Emma Elizabeth (Svoboda) Emma Elizabeth (Svoboda) Krivanek, 89, a long-time resident of Oklahoma City, died September 29, 2003, in Aztec, New Mexico. She had been a resident at Crane's Roost Care Home in Aztec since September, 1995. Emma was born in Glencoe, OK, March 8, 1914, to George and Martha (Jafek) Svoboda. Her mother died when Emma was only six (6) years old. She lived on her father's farm until age 17 when she moved to work in Yukon, OK. There she met and married Millard F. Krivanek, November, 1935. They lived in Southwest Oklahoma City for 60 years. Emma was a homemaker the first 20 years of their marriage. She was an excellent cook and seamstress; she sewed all her daughter's dance costumes. When her children went to college she began working outside her home in clothing and jewelry sales at Halliburton/Kerr's and J.C. Penney downtown, then 20 years at Rothschilds at Penn Square Mall. She enjoyed her work and the people. Emma and Millard were members of the Czech Rolnik Lodge 89 in Oklahoma City for many years. Her husband, Millard, preceded her in death, July 1, 1994, as did her older sister, Milly Krivanek, October 21, 2000. She is survived by her younger sister, Anna Streetman, Tulsa, OK, and brother, John Svoboda, and wife Leonia of Reedsport, OR. Also survived by son, Connie M. Krivanek and wife Lynda of Farmington, NM; daughter, Wanda L. Roach of Abiquiu, NM; granddaughter Alecia and husband Randy Pittman of New Lisbon, NJ, and twin great granddaughters, Rachael and Sarah; grandson Alan Krivanek of Davis, CA; granddaughter Kellye and husband Jim Ryan of Santa Rosa, CA; great grandsons, Jack, James and Joseph and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn; grandson Jesse Roach and wife, Linda, of Oakland, CA; great grandson, Jesse, and great granddaughter, Amie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Emma loved her family and will be missed by them. Funeral services will be at the Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, 7720 South Pennsylvania at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2003, with burial at the Czech National Cemetery, SW 44th & Villa, Oklahoma City. Donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) for dementia research.
