Former Oklahoman, Cora (Pitzer) Leach, Dies In California

Mrs. Cora Leach, 80, died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Cox, 3659 
Moultrie Ave., San Diego, California, with whom she recently had made her home.

Mrs. Leach, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Collins) Pitzer, of Stillwater, 
Payne County, Oklahoma, came to Oklahoma with her parents at the age of 5, 
migrating from Kansas in the spring of 1889. Her parents established their 
homestead just east of Stillwater, following the First Land Run of 1889. She 
married John Edward Leach prior to 1912 and they had four children. Following 
the death of her husband in 1939, she moved to California, where she remained 
until her death.

Mrs. Leach is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ruby Bell, of San Diego; two 
sons, Allen Leach and Edward W. Leach of Carlsbad, three sisters, all residing 
in Payne County, Oklahoma, 12 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Beardsley Funeral Home. Interment will be 
at El Camino Memorial Park"
