All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Stillwater OK Tucson Citizen, Tucson AZ LAWSON, Glenn Dale, 73, of Edmond, Oklahoma (formerly of Stillwater, OK). Born April 12, 1930 in Glendale, AZ to John and Mary (Emberson) Lawson, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Married Ella Jo Lawson November 22, 1951 in Winslow, AZ. Glenn was a member of the Green Valley Kiwanis Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Ella Joe Lawson; son, Jeffrey Houston Lawson and wife, Nancy of Derby, KS; daughters, Kathryn Ann Shipley of Edmond, OK, Virginia Lyn Davenport and husband, Gary of Sanger, TX; brothers, Charles Edwin Lawson, John Eldon Lawson and William Houston Lawson; sisters, Trudy Tyler, Myrtle Estella Shrewsbury, and George Lou Riddle. Glen served as a choral director at Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, Arizona and served as the minister of music and youth at First Baptist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma from 1970 to 1977. In 1978, he attended seminary at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary during which time he also pastored congregations in Lawrence, Kansas and Stanley, Kansas. He then served at Green Valley Baptist Church in Green Valley, Arizona from 1983 to 1998, where he retired from the ministry. During retirement, he served as interim pastor in several churches throughout Arizona. In the spring of 2003, he and his wife relocated to Edmond, Oklahoma in order to be near their children and grandchildren. Glenn was an accomplished vocalist and was a fine wood craftsman and auto mechanic, as well as a creative landscaper. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Stillwater, OK on Friday, December 5, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary W. Davenport and Dr. Charles Wood officiating. Interment at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, OK.
