All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Oak Hill Cemetery--Drumright OK Cushing Daily Citizen April 30, 2007 05:30 pm Death Notice: Don Winfred Moss Don Winfred Moss, age 89 of Payne County, died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Resthaven Nursing Home, Cushing. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the Church of Christ (9th and Linwood). Mr. Wendyl Heffington will officiate. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Drumright, OK. Services are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma. Don was born on July 14, 1917 at Tide Water Lease, southeast of Drumright to late Calvin and Mary Ellen (Bell) Moss. He grew up in Pleasant Hill and attended Tidal Water Schools. Don married Mary Lowe on April 16, 1936 in Drumright, Oklahoma. They recently celebrated their 71st Wedding Anniversary. They lived in the Oilton area nineteen years, their land was purchased when the dam was constructed. They moved to Payne County area, where they made their home. Don was a member of the Church of Christ (9th and Linwood) since 1961. He was very active in the Drumright Rodeo for a number of years. Don was a rancher and horse trader. He roped cattle for many people over the years. Don loved to Deer Hunt, he was very proud of the 19 point buck he shot at the age of 79 on his own place. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mary Moss of the home, son Larry Moss and wife Nancy of Payne County, daughter Betty Bateman and husband Jim of Maysville area, grandchildren Kevin Bateman and wife Melissa, Chris Bateman, and three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
