"Thelly" Boughton, 82, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Forest Hills Health Care Center in Broken Arrow. The family will greet friends at Hayhurst Funeral Home March 4 from 2 until 4 p.m. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Rev. Nick Garland will preside. Interment will follow at Haskell Cemetery. Hayhurst Funeral Home is directing the arrangements. She was born in Payne County Nov. 18, 1918, to Jack and Susie (Etheridge) Nickels. She was a 1936 graduate of Stillwater High School. She married Glenn A. Boughton May 11, 1937, in Stillwater. He died June 10, 1997. They moved to Broken Arrow from Lawrence, Kan., in May, 1984. She was a homemaker and a seamstress and worked in several women's dress shops. She was a member of various organizations including the Garden Club and was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Joy Singers Senior Choir. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Lowry. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Webb and her husband, Henry, of Haskell, Bonnie Harris and her husband, Jim, of Pinion Hills, Calif., and Bette Fletcher and her husband, Randy, of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren Pam Stephens, Chris Fletcher, Jeremy Harris, Alicia Hunter, Angela Walker, Rebecca Morgan, Maggie Harris and Danielle and Micah Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Sierra Hunter, Matt Stephens, Cheyanne Hunter, Kory Harris, Amanda Stephens and Melody Walker; and sisters Elna Jones, of Drumright and Barbara Lee Kerby, of Perkins. Services, with Rev. Vic Morlan and Rev. George Brock III presiding, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Davis Funeral Home is directing the arrangements. She was born in Bison July 7, 1929, to Robert E. and Frances K. (Iven) Davis. She graduated from Drumright High School in 1946. On Aug. 3, 1947, she married Floyd Sorrels in Oklahoma City. Following his retirement from the Army, the couple returned to Oak Grove where they have resided since. Jean recalled many times the traveling associated with a career service man and was proud of the fact that of the 29 years Floyd was in the service, she spent 27 years with him. She worked for several different businesses. She finally retired from the Kelley Texaco Marketing Company in Drumright after working for them about 10 years. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed watching children during church activities. She was an avid bridge player and for years taught adults how to play bridge. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing needlepoint. In addition to her husband of more than 56 years she is survived by a son, Robert Floyd Sorrels and his wife, Leslie, of Warr Acres; two daughters, Jean Anne Helgeson and her husband, Richard, of Garland, Texas, and Kathryn Brown, of Combined, Texas; one brother, Robert L. Davis, of Shreveport, La.; one sister- in-law, Opal Perry and her husband, Bill of Oak Grove; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cushing Church of Christ with Wendyl Heffington officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Haskell to B. C. and Mary (Smith) Tennison. She was reared and educated in the Haskell area. She married Jess F. Green Sept. 6, 1933. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ in Cushing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1981. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Green of Cushing; three brothers, Johnnie Tennison of Haskell, Jimmie Tennison of Inola and Donnie Tennison of Cassville, Mo.; six sisters, Glaydean Dearing of Sand Springs, Gertrude Teague, Lorene Elliot, Nadine Lord, all of Spavinaw, Katherine Reeves of Amarillo, Texas and Margaret Jones of Mannford; three grandsons, Jeffery Green of Oklahoma City, Craig R. Box 248, Yale, OK, 74085. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gwendolyn Hollis Anderson Gwendolyn (Gwen) Hollis Anderson, 84, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the Fountains at Canterbury in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Mountain View to Edna and Oscar Hollis. She married Wilton T. Anderson Dec. 10, 1938 in Alva. Anderson moved with ther family to Alva in 1925. She earned an excellent academic record through elementary, high school and college. She received the American Legion Award when she finished elementary school. She graduated from Alva High School in 1935 and entered Northwestern State Teachers College that fall. She was elected to Kappa Delta Pi, a professional education fraternity, in 1938, during her junior year. After she married, her husband's teaching career and additional academic studies took the couple to many locations: Cyril; Tonkawa; Boulder, Colo.; Scarsdale, N.Y.; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Stillwater. Anderson's hobbies were music appreciation, writing poetry, attending Broadway plays, the opera and golf. She was a champion golfer at Lakeside Memorial Golf Course in the mid 1960s and at the Stillwater Country Club in the early 1970s. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, where she served as the church librarian for 17 years. In 1992, she published "Poems of the Heart" which was comprised of the poems she had authored over a 50-year period. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Kaye Lynn Anderson and her husband; one son, W. She attended school at the historic Pleasant Valley School during her elementary years and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1940. While her husband was away at war, she worked in Tulsa as a plane inspector at an aircraft manufacturing company. She saved her money and bought her husband his first barber shop. During the early years of her marriage, Nasalroad and her husband lived in San Antonio, Texas, Tulsa and Cushing. In 1949, they moved to Stillwater where she worked for the public schools. Later, she retired from Oklahoma State University where she had worked in food service. Although employed at times, her life's work was as a devoted homemaker. She greatly enjoyed her children and was a life-long member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Nasalroad was a talented cook, baker and seamstress and won several awards for her skills. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, John, Al and Victor Bradley; and one sister, Lucy Faulkner. He was born in Izard County, Ark., on July 24, 1921, to L.P. and Arlie Jane (Melton) Blevins. He married Darline Myers in Union, Mo., on Oct. 18, 1947. He worked for Shell Pipeline for more than 36 years. He was a member and past master of the Union Masonic Lodge No. 595 in Union, Mo. and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was in World War II when he served in the Naval Reserve. He was predeceased by his parents and one grandchild. She was born in Marshall County on April 5, 1924, to John Albert Sherwood and Elizabeth Mae Hinsley. She was reared in Marshall. She lived in the Oklahoma City and Moore area and California and Texas before moving to Stillwater in 1998. She was married to Morris Tizano. She worked for the Salvation Army where she achieved the rank of master leader and was active in the Assembly of God Church. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Wade, four brothers and four sisters. He was born Aug. 17, 1947, in Red Rock to Sam and Dorthy (Garton) Tanksley. He married Connie Rozell on June 13, 1969 in Ponca City. He was a 1965 graduate of Ponca City High School. He attended Northern Oklahoma College and worked for Webber Wholesale as a route salesman. After his marriage, he worked for Anderson Wholesale and Guy's Foods as a route driver. In 1981, while working for Guy's Foods, he moved to Stillwater where he worked for Owen Thomas Ford and Mercury Marine. He attended Meridian Technology Center and graduated with a certificate in heating and air conditioning. He worked for Oklahoma State University in the University Apartments and the motor pool. He was working at University Mail Services when he had to leave due to his disability. He enjoyed working on cars and doing home repairs. He loved reading and cared for his family and was known to say "My grand kids are my life." He was always extending himself for people. He was an Eagle Scout, soccer referee and Little League baseball umpire and a member of Oklahoma Fans for Elvis. He was predeceased by his father, a brother and a grandson. Sharp was a lab technician at Oklahoma State University and a member of VFW Post No. 2027. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Hume Richard D. Hume died Friday, March 2, 2001. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church in Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hume was born Oct. 15, 1948, in Ponca City to Robert and Ruth Hume. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time with his family. His love and humor will be missed. He was a graduate of both C.E. Donart High School and Oklahoma State University. After he finished school, Hume held numerous positions in banking institutions, including Stillwater National Bank. Hume and his wife lived in Grand Haven, Mich. His father predeceased him in 1964. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter Carissa Hume Arutunoff, husband Anatoly and granddaughter Alexandra, Tulsa; daughter Alison Hume Maxson, husband Tyler and granddaughter Taylor, Lewisville, Texas; daughter Lisa Crawford and grandsons Justin and Michael, Rockwall, Texas; and son Capt. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family at . *********************************************************************** March 6, 2001 *********************************************************************** Dorothy Hopkins Alcott Dorothy Hopkins Alcott, 99, Manchester, Vt., died on March 2, 2001. Memorial services will be held in Salem, N.Y. and later Charleston, Ill. at later date. She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma Territory on April 5, 1901 to Laura Washburn Hopkins and Edward Everett Hopkins. Hopkins was in the furniture and piano business. The family moved to Guthrie in 1908 and remained there until she graduated from high school, when they moved back to Stillwater. She entered Oklahoma A&M College in 1919 where she majored in business and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Upon graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper at Bishops' Clothing Store. In 1927, she married Arthur Bernard Alcott, an officer at the Stillwater National Bank. The couple had two children - James Arthur born in 1930 and Barbara Anne born in 1938. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M; she also attended OAMC and graduated from Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Alcott was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae activities and served on the local corporation board fro many years. She was also a member of PEO, the First Presbyterian Church and the Browning Club. She moved to Charleston, Ill. in 1980 after her husband's death in 1977. She made the move in order to be near her daughter and family. She lived there until 1990 where she moved to Minneapolis where her son and his family lived. In 1996 she moved to Salem, N.Y. and shortly thereafter to Equinox Terrace in nearby Manchester, Vt. Mrs. Alcott is survived by her son, James Alcott and wife Marilynn, Salem, N.Y.; her daughter, Barbara Alcott Corley and husband Edward, Charleston, Ill.; seven grandchildren, David Alcott, Allston, Mass.; Thomas Alcott, Uxbridge, Mass.; John Tobin Alcott, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Anne E. McHenry James W. McHenry, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Stillwater Medical Center. His ashes are to be scattered where he first soloed in a PTk-17 Steerman. Brown-Sissons Funeral Home of Perry, is directing the arrangements. He was born in Harvey, Ill. on Dec. 25, 1927, to Warren Bernard and Barbara Johanna (Willms) McHenry. In 1955 he received his bachelor of law degree from Pacific Coast University, Los Angeles. He served in the Navy from 1947 until 1947 and worked as a lather and plasterer before he retired in 1989. He moved to Payne County in 1995 from Sand Springs where he had lived for 36 years. He was a member of the Wood, Wire and Metal Lathers' International Union Number 228, of Tulsa. He was instrumental in founding the Sand Springs Soccer Association and served as a long-time coach of the Glentoran soccer team. He also worked as a construction manager on the Williams Building in Tulsa, the Tulsa Expo Center's Golden Driller, the Tulsa Public Library and the Stillwater Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Warren, Charles, John, and William. Survivors include a daughter, Cezanne Bomba and her husband, Patrick, of Stillwater; two sons, Patrick McHenry, of Jenks, and Jim McHenry, of Centerville, Utah; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was chosen as a delegate to the National Convention in Orlanda, Fla. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, raising houseplants and painting. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook and kept scrapbooks of interesting articles from the Perkins Journal. She then worked at Catoosa Public Schools in the cafeteria, Oklahoma State University housekeeping and in the Glencoe Public Schools elementary office until her death. She enjoyed spending time with the youth of her church. She volunteered to cook at Falls Creek Church Camp for 44 years with various church groups. Emmons enjoyed sewing, horseback riding, yard work and gardening. Emmons was a member of the Glencoe First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She was born July 25, 1895, in Indian Territory, six miles west of Cushing to Albert K. and Ida (Foster) King. She attended Free Silver School and completed the ninth grade at Ripley High School. She married Francis G. Gillespie June 24, 1919. She lived southwest of Cushing since 1931. Until 1994, she submitted entries to the Payne County Fair, winning ribbons of all colors for breads, cookies, jellies and canned goods. She read several newspapers and played the piano daily. She sewed lap robes and pillows for the Children's and Veterans' Hospitals in Oklahoma City until the age of 101. She was a member of the Pioneer Club, Worthwhile Club, Historical Club and was inducted into the Centenarian Club of Oklahoma. She was the longest continuous member of the First Christian Church in Cushing, baptized Oct. 6, 1921. In 1955 he received his bachelor of law degree from Pacific Coast University, Los Angeles. He served in the Navy from June 1945 until December 1947 and worked as a lather and plasterer before he retired in 1989. He moved to Payne County in 1995 from Sand Springs where he had lived for 36 years. He was a member of the Wood, Wire and Metal Lathers' International Union Number 228 of Tulsa. He was instrumental in founding the Sand Springs Soccer Association and served as a long-time coach of the Glentoran soccer team. He also worked as a construction manager on the Williams Building in Tulsa, the Tulsa Expo Center's Golden Driller, the Tulsa Public Library and the Stillwater Medical Center. He attended Miracle Temple Holy Deliverance Christ of God in Spring Lake, N.C., under the leadership of Dr. Bennie L. Kelly. He was very active in the music department. He later moved to Cushing where he lived with Grandmother Cleo (Lane) White and he attended the First Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. James Manuel, Jr. He attended and graduated from Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater. He majored in carpentry and architecture. White drove for Big Trucking Co. in Stillwater. He also worked at Mercury Marine in Stillwater for one and a half years. He then worked for Evans in Cushing. He later was transferred to Evans in Oklahoma City where he worked for two years. At the time of his death he was employed at Tuboscope Vetco International in Oklahoma City. She married John Miller Dec. 4, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nev. She later married Michael Matthews April 11, 1998, in Stillwater. She attended school in Dayton, Ohio and Buena Park, Calif. She graduated from high school in 1970. She attended Bartmore Beauty College and graduated in 1972. Matthews worked at various beauty shops after her marriage. She was a homemaker and stayed at home to care for her children until her divorce. She then went to work for Amway from 1977 to 1989. She lived in various places and in 1992, she met Matthews in Lakewood, Calif. She moved to Stillwater in 1994 and worked for Denny's and Holiday Inn. She was working at Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores until her health forced her to retire. Matthews was an avid bowler and was involved in Mixed Doubles Friday Night at Frontier Lanes. She loved to crochet. Matthews is preceded in death by her father and her mother, Margrit Williamson. He was born in Oklahoma Territory Aug. 6, 1906, to William and Mary Emily (Pickering) McGinty. He married Rose Marie Butcher Dec. 31, 1928, in Stillwater He began a lifelong career in the oil industry in 1924 with Roxana Petroleum, later working for the Great Lakes Pipeline Co. as an engineer and then with the Williams Company. He invented a low water gauge while working with steam engines, and in the 1930's he experimented with a Braille metal scope which contributed to the development of the metal detector. He is most remembered for his efforts in promoting an appreciation for historical heritage. He worked with the Ponca City Indian Museum and the Oklahoma Historical Society. He earned the title of "Honorary Rough Rider", because of his contributions at their reunions. He was most proud of his work in helping to develop the Washington Irving Trail Museum and served as the first chairman of the board. He lived to see his father inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame as "Great Westerner" and attended the reception and public showing of the trophy at the Washington Irving Trail Museum. He was a Mason and a member of the Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar and Clarence McGinty. He and his family had moved to Ripley, where he was reared and educated. He married Martha Bowlen and to this union one son, Larry, was born. He later was united in marriage to Joyce Corkins, and to this union, three children, Denise, Jeff and Cindy were born. He later married Wynola Simpson. Wingfield had worked in the oil field before entering the United States Navy March 6, 1946. After serving in World War II, he returned to Oklahoma to continue working in the oil field industry. Wingfield retired from Piping Engineering Company in 1992. He loved to garden and raise cattle. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 108. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Wynola Wingfield and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Wingfield. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Circle at the Church. Lewis, 83, Agra, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at his home after a long illness of thyroid cancer. Lewis was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Yale to James Henry and Luella (Nasalroad) Lewis. He was united in marriage to Wilma R. Krebs Sept. 15, 1945. The couple had four children, Linda, Jim, Tom and Lenita. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. He served his country in World War II for almost five years in Iceland and the European Theater. He served as a volunteer fireman for Agra for over 20 years. Lewis loved his family and working on and restoring small engines. He worked on the turnpike and was a security guard at the Deep Rock Refinery. He also drove a gasoline transport for Gibble Oil Co. He and Wilma leased three service stations and then in 1966 they built and operated a Phillips Service Station in Agra for the next 17 years. They sold it to retire in 1982. He and his wife delivered the Shop and Swap for 16 and one half years, retiring in 1998 due to Lewis' health. He is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, six sisters and a great grandson, Clayton Ray Saucier. On April 6, 1945, he married Alyce Rae Clark in Arkansas City, Kan. She died Feb. 18, 1977. He was the owner and operator of Burkey Creamery which was founded in 1927. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, served as a member of the Cushing City Commission and served as Cushing's mayor. He active with the Salvation Army and many other civic organizations. He was an OSU alumni and during World War II served in the Navy. He returned to Cushing and worked as office manager for Traco Oil Co. until early retirement for health reasons. He was a member of the Cushing V.F.W. Post 1118. Rusco was born in Marshall on June 13, 1907, to John Quincy and Emily (Davis) Rusco. Five days after his birth, his father died as a result of a farming accident, leaving his mother to raise three children while she worked as a school teacher. On Dec. 12, 1929, Rusco married Iva Stagner. Their daughter, Dorothy, died at birth on Nov. 30, 1930. Five years later, their only son, John, was born. Rusco's wife died Feb. 17, 1976. On Sept. 25, 1976, he married Myrtle Bays in Helena, where they lived until her death on Aug. 27, 1978. On June 23, 1979, Rusco married Lilly Smith, Stillwater, whom he had known for many years. They remained together in Stillwater until she died on Jan. 9, 1987. Rusco lived his adult life in Stillwater and Perkins and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk, letter carrier and rural mail carrier for many years. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the 29th Infantry Division in Germany, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the European Campaign Ribbon with two stars. Early in his adult life he was a member of the United Brethren Church in Stillwater and at Lost Creek. Later, he became a member of the United Methodist Church in Perkins and Southern Heights United Methodist Church in Stillwater. More recently, he attended Highland Park United Methodist. As an active church member, Rusco served as a youth group sponsor, Sunday school teacher, a member of the board of trustees and in other offices as long as his health permitted. He was a member of the American Legion for more than 50 years, and during the 1950s, he belonged to the Perkins Lion Club. He was predeceased by his parents, his wives, his daughter and two brothers, Dwight and Homer Rusco. He took great pride in establishing his own businesses, Economy Pest Control and concrete/construction company. On June 2, 1991, Bolton met April Dawn Lau. They were married on June 2, 1996, and established a home in Bixby. Beyond his beautiful wife, Bolton's greatest loves included the outdoors, boating, skiing, wake-boarding and spending time with family and friends. Upon completion of her college education, she was employed by the USDA, where she advanced to become the secretary and assistant to the head of the Oklahoma USDA. On May 4, 1938, she married Ernest Judson Bryan Jr. in Guthrie. He was in the automobile business for 53 years with the Oldsmobile, Cadillac, GMC and Toyota franchises, and she was an active partner in the business. She lived in Stillwater until 1995, when, following her husband's death, she moved to Tulsa to be near her brothers and nieces. While in Stillwater, she was active in Business and Professional Women, Stillwater Golf and Country Club and her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stillwater, where she attended regularly. Her two hobbies were golf and travel. She had made many trips to other parts of the world enjoying the beauty and scenery and learning a great deal of other cultures. Survivors include two brothers, Boyden Schirmer of Mannford and D.E. He was reared in Borger and moved to Kermit, Texas, where he attended schools. While he was still a young man the family moved to Fairfax where he learned carpentry and pipe fitting skills that were his trade. He married Bonnie (Teegarden) Coe Dec. 1, 1978, in Masham. He was baptized at the Baptist Church in Jennings. He graduated from Jennings High School in 1947 and moved to Pawnee shortly after. He went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety as a communications dispatcher in 1952. He served for 20 years, retiring in 1972 as Chief Dispatcher. In 1975, he went back to work for the department as a permit clerk and retired again, in 1994. He worked for a total of 39 years with the department. Brown loved fishing, water gardening, feeding the squirrels and birds and working in his workshop. He loved his dogs and going to the donut shop or local cafe to visit with his friends and son, Wayne. In his younger years, he coached little league baseball and was a volunteer fireman for a number of years. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Teri Dawn Brown; sister, Betty Freel; and brother, Donald Cox. When he was 17 he joined the Navy and had to take back the Gilbert name. On Feb. 5, 1947, he married Earline McCartney. He served overseas during World War II. In 1951 he joined the Marine Corps and served at Camp Pendleton, Calif. After the Marine Corps he served in the Army Reserve. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was commander of American Legion Post 108 in Cushing. He was a construction worker and lived many places during his life. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, James, of the home and Callen, of Agra; four daughters, Reta Slay, of Cushing, Judy Choate of Sunrise, Fla., Kathy Ragland, of Artesia, N.M. and Susan Fugate, of Agra; two sisters, Betty Rowland, of Cushing and Jean Tilley, of Ramona; and 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emma Lou Chaffey Emma Lou Chaffey, 71, of Cushing, died Sunday, March 25, 2001. Davis Funeral Home is directing the services. She was born Dec. 20, 1929, to Derrill E. Cardin and Fannie Belle (Wolfe) Cardin in Cushing. She was married to E.C. Chaffey. She was reared and educated in Cushing and later in Schenectady, New York. She returned to Cushing in 1996 after being away for 50 years. She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Charles Green; and one sister, Deloris. Shenold was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Quay to Notsee Shenold and Mable Mae (Charlton) Shenold. He married Stella Mae (Sneed) Shenold Jan. 1, 1939, in Hallett. To this marriage, Shenold had three sons, Melvin Edward Shenold, Dale Roy Shenold and Thomas Keith Shenold. He later married Floy K. (Reese) Shenold Aug. 30, 1987, in Stillwater. Shenold was a lifetime resident of Pawnee County. He was a Hallett Baptist Church and a Mason. Shenold was a widely known coyote hunter and dog breeder. He had the National Champion July at one time and had judged the National July Hunt. He served as Pawnee County Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff for many years. He was a farmer and rancher all his life and loved the horse and cattle business. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vina Adkison; brother, Melvin Shenold; and a grandson Chism Keith Shenold. Kropp was born March 2, 1963, in Tulsa to Mary Jo Gray Kropp (Klabzuba) and Michael Owen Kropp. She grew up in Tulsa and Sand Springs. Kropp moved to Stillwater in 1987. She received her education from Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, the Faith Class Member, and was a part of the Stillwater Group Homes since 1987. Kropp worked at Hideaway Pizza and the Payne County Sheltered Workshop. She is survived by her mother, Mary Jo Klabzuba and husband Charles, Broken Arrow; father, Michael Kropp and wife Judy Kropp, San Clemente, Calif.; brothers, Michael Kropp and family, Braggs; and Christopher Kropp and family, Tulsa. Services, with Rev. Milton Colbert presiding, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pawnee. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. She was born in Sapulpa July 11, 1929, to Josh and Igetta (Green) Callaway. She married Joseph Johnson. On Jan. 11, 1970, she married Cornelius (Bootney) Bell in Pawnee. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She began working at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital in 1968 and retired in 1982. She later returned to part time work and worked in housekeeping until she became a nurse's aide. She used good judgment, always did her share of work, was loved and respected by her fellow workers, doctors, friends and especially her family. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, going to basketball games and watching her children and grandchildren. She also loved to bake for her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands, grandsons, step-daughter, Lurline Seyillano, and step-sisters, Betty and Susan Elston. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home. Stubblefield as born on Aug. 11, 1909 in Agra to Lester and Myrtle (Hubbard) Anderson. She received her early education in Agra. She was married to Loyd Raymond Oliver on Dec. 31, 1930 in Chandler. They made their first home in Agra. They lived in Mehan prior to moving to Ripley in 1943. After the death of Mr. Oliver she was married to Virgil Leroy Stubblefield on Nov. 7, 1986. She was employed at the OSU Student Union as head cook for 14 years, retiring in 1975. She also cooked for Green Thumb. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three brothers, Floyd, Howard and Lonnie Anderson; one sister, Lorene Cook; one infant son; and son-in- law, Harvey Thompson. Merrifield was born on July 11, 1899 in Farmington, Mo., to the Rev. M. M. and Sarah (Shy) Munger. She moved to the Indian Territory with her family in 1900 and attended Enid High School and Enid Business College. She married Fred R. Merrifield on Oct. 15, 1919 in rural Perry. They celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. She and her husband resided in Woodward, Stillwater, Washington, D.C. and Wichita, Kan., before returning to the Merrifield Family Farm south of Enid in 1960. They adopted three sons. She was a longtime active member of Valley View Home Demonstration Club. Merrifield is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Merrifield; son Fred Merrifield, Jr., M.D.; daughter Carol Merrifield Gyles; and two grandsons, Christopher Gyles and David A. Merrifield. She is survived by her daughters, Velma Davis, rural Enid; Herbert and Fern Van Gieson, Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren Elmo M. Davis, Wichita, Kan.; Kate Lindamood, Burleson, Texas; Glenn P.
