Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. McDonald was born June 11, 1951, in Freemont, Calif., to Edmond McDonald Sr. and Rachel (Trammel) McDonald. He was reared and educated in Freemont. He was united in marriage to Berniece Loveless. She preceded him in death in 1998. He later married Ramona Gary Jan. 12, 1999, in Arkansas. He worked as a mechanic for L.D. Wrecker Service in Chandler and Hibdon Tire Company in Chandler. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing. In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carrol Lemons. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Arthur Hulet will officiate. She was born March 4, 1911, in Mountain Home, Ark., the daughter of Tom and Etta (Owens) Morris. Prior to moving to the local area, she had lived in Oklahoma City since 1945. She was married to Leslie A. Duncan, who preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1969. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Willa Hulet and her husband Art of Stillwater; one son, J.T. Bobby Wayne Wiggs Bobby Wayne Wiggs, 68, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his Cushing home. Services, with Rev. Lamont Henderson presiding, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing. Interment will follow at the Perkins Cemetery in Perkins. Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing is directing the services. He was born in Perkins July 12, 1933, to John C. and Mable (Cooper) Wiggs. He received his early education in Colorado and was married to Ester Koehon and later to Lois Bartlett. He and his brother, Gary, owned an emu farm in Cushing. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. His father and one grandson, Phillip, predeceased him. Survivors include his mother of Cushing; a son, Michael Wiggs of China; three daughters, Phyllis Fry and her husband Michael of Ocean Side, Calif., Deneise Luis and her husband Gary of Atwater, Calif. and Cheryl Wiggs of Wilmer, Texas; one brother, Gary Wiggs and his wife Gladys of Cushing; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Judith Karman Hospice, 915 South Main, Stillwater, OK 74074. Lloyd Kenneth Edmondson Lloyd Kenneth Edmondson, 91, Stillwater, died Friday, April 26, 2002. Services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lost Creek United Methodist Church. Rev. Max Rudd officiated. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Strode Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Edmondson was born July 8, 1910, to Corta Mitchell and Lela Elma (Sharp) Edmondson in the Lake Carl Blackwell area. He was the last living child of Corta M. Edmondson’s 13 children. He married Evelyn Jones in 1929 in Tulsa. This union ended in divorce. He then married Addie Fern Retherford Nov. 24, 1943, at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church. She predeceased him May 9, 2000. He attended Cherokee School, which was located in the area that is now Lake Carl Blackwell. Later, he worked on the dam and lake area clearing, quarrying, burning wood and as a night watchman. He served on the board of trustees at Lost Creek United Methodist Church and did repairs at the church and parsonage, mowed the grass and helped with money raising efforts, which was often at the Payne County Fair. He taught Sunday school for many years and was the church treasurer for nine years. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and was a member of the ASCS and was a lay delegate at the annual church conference. Edmondson is predeceased by his parents, wife, one sister, 11 brothers and two great-grandsons. He is survived by two sons, Rex Ormand Edmondson and his wife Edith of Kamiah, Idaho, and Kenneth Dwight Edmondson and his wife Linda of Stillwater; three daughters, Clara Davis and her husband Jim of Arizona, Patsy Ruth Ralston of Wichita, Kan., and Kathleen Marie Woods and her husband Grady of Stillwater.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, Martie and Tom Hall, Colleen and Danny Llanes, Glenna and Bob Cramer, Rex and Janice Edmondson, Robert Edmondson, Ron and DeLana Edmondson, Randy Edmondson, Steven and Karen Woods, Bryan and Janice Woods, Jennifer Talley, Brad Talley, Linda and Brad Purcell, Paula Jackson, and John and Sarah Jackson; and several great great grandchildren. Johnson Sr. and Helen (Williams) Johnson. He married Carlene K. Bowman in Ponca City June 28, 1962. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 1997. He married Elmona Summers in Glencoe Feb. 13, 1999. He graduated from Birdville High School in Haltom City, Texas. After graduation, he went into the Navy and served four years. After leaving the Navy, he married Carlene Bowman and they lived in Ponca City. They later moved to Enid where he worked at Vance Air Force Base. They then moved to Stillwater and later to Cushing, where they bought a farm. He was a letter carrier in Cushing until he retired. After his marriage to Elmona, they moved to Stillwater where he lived until his death. His hobbies were golfing, Elvis impersonation, traveling and dancing. He loved his grandkids. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his wife, Elmona; his mother, Helen I. McCoy was born March 2, 1932, in Branchland, W. Va., to Jasper Nutton and Anna Virginia (Adkins) McCoy. He married Velma Jean Miller Jan. 11, 1952, in Huntsville, Ark. McCoy was drafted into the Army at the age of 19. After receiving the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, he was discharged in March 1961. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves. He worked for Scrutchfield Motors and Vick Woods Automotive in Guthrie before moving to Stillwater in 1961. He owned and operated McCoy’s Service Station west of town for two years. He later opened Dale’s Auto and Repair, operating it from 1968 to 1978. He loved both trading and working on cars. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. His greatest love was his granddaughter, Taylin. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one son, Terry McCoy and his wife, Nancy, of Stillwater, and one granddaughter, Taylin Marie McCoy. She lived with her family in Hope, Ark., where she attended school and graduated as the class valedictorian. She then attended business college in Texarkana, Ark., and upon graduation, worked as a secretary for the U.S. Air Force. She then moved with her family to Ada, where she met and married her husband, Leonard Downing, on May 21, 1948. Downing worked as a secretary for the Veterans Administration before moving in 1962 to Stillwater, where she was a secretary for the Board of Realtors. She took early retirement to stay home with her family as a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Stillwater Medical Center Auxiliary for more than 15 years, Payne County Genealogical Society and the National Association of Federal Employees. Downing was predeceased by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her husband; one son, Richard Downing and his fiancee, Shelly O’Sullivan, of Stillwater; and one sister, Maxine Baulch and her husband, Clyde, of Ada. Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Cushing. He was born near Cushing Aug. 2, 1917, to Frank and Bessie Malone Pack. He was reared in the Cushing area. He married Irene Cates Aug. 10, 1951, in Cushing. The couple lived there most of their married lives. He retired from Lease Service where he had worked as a dispatcher bookkeeper for more than 21 years. He was a member of the Council Valley Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He loved taking his nieces and nieces fishing with him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Carl Pack, Dale Pack, Dick Ripley and Louie Ripley; three sisters, Maxine Turner, Mae Troxel and Cecil Hayden; and one brother-in-law, Vivan Cates. She was reared and educated in the Drumright area. She was united in marriage to Cleo Donald Baker Feb. 2, 1937, in Chandler, making their home in the Norfolk Community that year. The couple was married for over 65 years before his death in April 2002. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and always considered it an honor to be a pastor’s wife. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and working with flowers. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Sutton; two sons, Don and Rick Baker; and granddaughter, Jimi K. Leonard. She received her early education and was a graduate of Cyril High School. She attended college at Cameron University in Lawton and Central State University in Edmond. She received a masters in special education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. She taught school in Gage, Carney and Hallett. She was married to Charles Vassar Jan. 5, 1957, in Drumright. They made their home in Perkins until moving to Cushing in 2001. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sandra Jane Heiden, who died April 18, 2002, and three brothers, Tony, Raymond and Tinley. Vassar is survived by her husband, Charles Vassar of the Cushing home; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Dena Vassar, Biloxi, Miss.; three grandchildren, Captain Foulks of Cyril, Bradley Vassar, Oklahoma City, and T.J. Vassar, Biloxi; and half brother, J.L. Cook, Cyril. Charles Mullins Charles Coy Mullins, 86, Stillwater, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in Stillwater. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God. Bob Brown will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Mullins was born Nov. 19, 1915, in Newton, Ala., to Willie J. Mullins and Gertrude (Carroll) Mullins. He attended school in Newton. He later moved to Claremore, where he met Mary H. Jones. The couple married in August 1934 in Brush Arbor. She preceded him in death. After the birth of their second child, Mullins was drafted into the infantry division of the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he returned to Claremore before moving to Stillwater in 1950. He attended Oklahoma A&M, where he received an associate’s degree in refrigeration, heating and air conditioning. He began working for the university, where he worked for 30 years until retiring. After the death of his first wife, Mullins married Esther Clausen Oct. 9, 1970. They were married for 30 years before her death. He held the position of treasurer in several organizations, including his church. His hobbies were fishing, bridge and dominoes. Mullins was a master gardener. He was very active in his church and was a charter member of the Ingalls Masonic Lodge. He was an anchor for his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He was a member of the American Legion, Oklahoma’s Sheriff’s Association, Ingalls Lodge 128, Past Master Mason, Stillwater Senior Citizens Board, past board member of Church of God and Refrigeration’s Service Engineer’s Society. Mullins is preceded in death by his parents, both wives, daughter, Ruby Virginia Bowen, and siblings, Willie J., Mattie Rea Adock, Gehu, Catherine Marchmen and Paul. He is survived by his son, Charles Warren Mullins; step-son, Ted Clausen; step daughters, Naida Parsons and Nelda Farukhi; three grandchildren, Kevin Bowen, Kim Bowen and R. Memorial services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 1801 West Brooks in Norman. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 24, 1927, to Alvin White Murray and Wilma Lucille Dorth Murray. She was raised in Kansas and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1944. On Jan. 24, 1948, she married Sidney DeVere Brown in Hutchinson, Kan. The couple moved to Stillwater in 1952 when he took up his duties with the history department at what was then Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College. She received an A.B degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.; a M.A. from University of Wisconsin, Madison in sociology; and her ph.D in sociology from the University of Illinois in Champaign. She taught sociology and political science at Rose State College in Midwest City from 1974 until 1991. After she retired, she taught at Donetsk State University in Ukraine in 1992-1993 as part of a program to bring western social science to the successor states of the U.S.S.R. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, Charley Patton; his wife; son, William Eugene Rush; a grandson, Rickie Young and a brother, Faye Rush. Ernest S. (Sonny) Seybert Ernest S. “Jitterbug” Seybert died Friday May 10, 2002 at his home in Cushing. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home chapel in Cushing. Seybert was born July 5, 1922 in Cushing to Aaron Gilbert and Erma Viola (Belveal) Seybert. He received his early education in Cushing. He was married to Bobbie Ann (Simpson) on December 24, 1949 in Magnolia, Ark. They made their home in Cushing and have since resided. Seybert was a pipeline Construction Worker and was a member of Local #798, he was active in the Cushing Senior Citizens Center, the Trail riders and also loved to pull his wagon in the wagon trail rides. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Don Seybert, Jr. and Jennifer Seybert both of Owasso. Carl Rose Carl Foster Rose, 81, Stillwater, died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Stillwater Medical Center. Rose was born Sept. 3, 1920, to James Turner and Mary Etta (Furrow) Rose near Canton. He grew up around Canton until age eight when the family moved to the Aline area. He married Arizona G. Link April 17, 1941, in Alva. In 1943, he enlisted in the Army and served in the 1876th Engineer Aviation Battalion in the Pacific during World War II. During his time in the service, he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. After the war, he returned to the Alva area where he had a construction company with his brothers. In 1962, the family moved to Stillwater. He farmed and did masonry work until he retired at age 62. After retirement, he went to work for Oklahoma State University. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose attended Sunnybrook Christian Church and was a member of the VFW in Perkins. He is predeceased by his parents and five brothers, Martin, Richard, Floyd, Everett and Charles Rose. On Sept. 22, 1930, he married Rachel CrowChief in Yale. She died March 4, 1993. Eaves was affiliated with Pawnee Indian Methodist Church and was the Nasharo Chief and the Kitkehahki Chief of the Pawnee Tribe. He was a member of the Heritage Club and was the oldest member of the Pawnee Tribe. He was active in the community and helped with tribal activities. Canaday was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Jackson, Tenn., to Wallace and Allie Maples Smith. She was raised in Jackson and went to school there. She married Ewing Canaday on Christmas Day in 1932. They lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana and Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Enid, Stillwater and Perkins. In 1957, her husband’s career took the couple to Ethiopia, where they lived for two years. Ten years later, they returned to Africa and lived in Zombia, Malawi, for several years. Canaday moved in 1993 to Mustang, where she resided until her death. Canaday was a member of Lakehoma Church of Christ in Mustang. She was also a member of Stillwater Medical Center Auxiliary and performed volunteer work in the hospital. She loved to play golf and was a member of Stillwater Municipal Golf Club. She also loved traveling, oil painting, gardening and knitting. Greg Kennedy will officiate. He was born to W.L. and Lela Seago in Rhea on Sept. 29, 1907. He married Ethel Katherine Pittman on Aug. 5, 1928. He spent most of his life farming in Beaver County. He spent two years in California working for Ford during the dust bowl. He and his wife moved to Stillwater in 1950 so their children could attend Oklahoma A&M College, but continued the farming operation in the panhandle. They moved to Perryton, Texas is 1958. The returned permanently to Stillwater in 1995. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, J.B. and Imel Seago; and one sister. She was educated in the Yale area. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1941 with a teaching certificate. She taught at her first school in Hominy. Her family moved to Roswell, N.M. where she taught for several years and she met and married James Victor Evers in 1944. Following the war, they resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they reared their children. She taught school in Cedar Rapids for over 15 years before retiring to Oklahoma in 1984. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a devout Christian and shared her loved of God with many people. She taught Sunday School for years and enjoyed leading her weekly bible studies. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Jaren Jeanette Evers Boyce. Evers is survived by her husband of over 57 years, James Evers of the home; daughter Jo Retta Roetman and husband Ron, St. Charles, Ill.; son Jay Evers and wife Deb, Yale; six grandsons, Victor, Darrin and Luke Roetman, Cody Boyce and Reed and Neal Evers; her sister Pell Harrison, Yale; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She enjoyed playing basketball and had been offered scholarships. After her marriage, she went to school and became an LPN and certified as a surgeon’s assistant. Later, she was employed as a press operator at a dry cleaners and then a manager. She was known as a good mother and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and collecting dolls and stuffed animals. Noe is predeceased by her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by two sons, Frankie Dean Winterhalter of Stillwater and Troy L. Through his hard work he eventually became the superintendent of postal operations. He retired after 30 years of service. He was also a volunteer for AARP income tax returns. He grew up in and around Rosebud, Ark, and farmed in the area before being called into the ministry in 1936. He was an ordained minister for 65 years and pastored churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma and west Texas. He pastored the last four years of his full-time ministry in Shawnee before he retired in 1984. After he retired, he served as a fill-in pastor for several years. He made four trips to Israel to visit the Holy Land. He was married to his faithful and loving wife, Essie for 67 years and 10 months. He was a member of the Assemblies of God. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, two sisters, a son-in-law, James McLaughlin, a daughter-in-law, Delynda Walter and a great-granddaughter, Cynthia LeAnne Russell. Roxie was born April 16, 1906 to Maude and William Parker Garrison in Paducah, Texas, one of 12 Garrison children. She married Clifford U. Nixon of Paducah, Texas in 1932. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Muskogee where they established a family. Mr. Nixon preceded her in death in 1957. After the death of her husband, Roxie became a housemother at the Oklahoma Children’s Home in Oklahoma City. Upon returning to Muskogee, she served as housemother in Journeycake Hall at Bacone College, then at the Oklahoma School for the Blind. Mrs. Nixon retired in 1974. She was born in Dodge City, Kan., Aug. 12, 1928, to William and Pearl (Sherwood) Brown. She graduated from high school in Dodge City and lived in Laramie, Wyo., for many years before she moved to Stillwater to live with her sister, Betty Tenbrink. She worked for Oklahoma State University duplicating for 11 years before retiring. Since she retired, she and her sister have spent many months in Mesa with family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas McKinney, a son, Michael McKinney and two sisters, Eula Speer and Helen McKinney. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Shriners or the American Cancer Society. Charles Ringwald Charles Leonard Ringwald, 68, Enid, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Enid Cemetery, officiated by Michael Frisbee, pastor at the Oakwood Christian Church. Military rites will be conducted by the D.A.V. Ringwald was born June 30, 1933, in rural Perkins to Leslie Lee and Frances Naomi (Myrick) Ringwald. He attended school at Ripley, then served in the Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955 in the Korean War. He then worked in the oil fields. On April 18, 1968, he married Leticia Villarosa in Wellington, Kan. He lived in many places in Oklahoma, including 10 years in Enid and then 20 years in Kingfisher before moving back to Enid in 1994. He was a member of the D.A.V., American Legion and Veterans of the Foreign War. He enjoyed treasure hunting with metal detectors. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Charles Leslie and Carl Lawrence; one sister, Lucille Ringwald; four brothers, Raymond, Jacob, Kenneth and Ronald. Ringwald is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Clifford and Calvin, both of Oklahoma City, and Clinton, Luther; daughter, Charlet of the home; eight brothers, Bennie, Ft. He supported himself through college by driving an ambulance and dispatching for the highway patrol. In 1954, he received an honorable discharge as a captain in the Air Force. He served as a general practitioner at Kelly Air Force Base in Texas and Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. For 20 years, he delivered over 300 babies, had a family practice and performed surgery. Then his interest became centered in the field of psychiatry and after completing his psychiatric residency, he built one of the largest practices in the southwest. Highly sought after as a speaker, he was regularly featured at seminars for medical personnel, including psychologists, nurses and medical related specialists. His experience as an actor in little theater and his vibrancy as the host of his own television series, blends the most pleasant attributes of an entertainer and an intellectual. His memberships included the American Medical Association and Toastmasters. He was an active amateur ham radio with long time friend Elmo Black and Troy Martin. He also was a disc jockey for KOMA radio. He was formerly married to Jacquelyn Idelle Matthews of Midwest City, with whom he raised four children. He later married Sammye Lenora Collins with whom he raised two additional daughters in Oklahoma City. He is preceded in death by one infant son, Gregory Scott Collins; wife, Jaquelyn Idelle Matthews; sister, Clara Isabel Collins and his parents. Grover McCrackin Retired Cushing businessman Grover McCrackin 90, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Cushing Regional Hospital. He graduated from Mannford High School and for two years attended Draughn’s Business College in Tulsa. On April 29, 1930, he married Vera Levon Langston in Mannford. The couple was married more than 71 years when she died Aug. 15, 2001. After they married, the couple lived in Mannford before they moved to Cushing in 1933. They owned and operated McCrackin Feed Company. After they sold the family business, he became a state agriculture inspector until 1977 when he retired. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center for various activities. He was also a longtime member of the Cushing Rotary Club and a member of the Cushing Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law, Pete Gilmore. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. An informal gathering at the President’s Suite on the Oklahoma State University campus will follow. She was born in Pottawatomie County in Oct. 1924, to Vernon N. and Edna Thomas Morrel. She grew up in Pottawatomie County. She spent many summers in Stillwater where her grandfather, Andrew J. Thomas, her aunt, Fannie Thomas Newman and her uncle, Clifton Thomas lived. During World War II she moved to Washington, D.C. where she met and married F.B.I. Special Agent Arthur J. Baker. After their daughters were born, the family moved to Maryland where they lived until 1970. During this time, she graduated from the University of Maryland and taught history and American studies at Montgomery Blair High School. When they retired, the couple moved to Stillwater. Her husband died in August 1993. She moved to Nevada in 2001. She is survived by her sister, Sunny (Mrs. James M. Chouteau), and daughters, Susan (Mrs. C. Stephen Gibson) and Martha (Mrs. Tom A.
