Copyright, http://www.stwnewspress.com/ 5/27/2003 Robert Milton Pace Services for Robert Milton "Bud" Pace, 82, Stillwater, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Cemetery with Dr. Marvin Smith officiating. Family will greet friends at Strode Funeral Home Monday from 7-9 p.m. Pace died Saturday, May 24, 2003, in Stillwater. He was born Jan. 19, 1921, in McCracken County, Ky., to Jesse Otto and Ina Magness Pace. His first marriage, to Grace Blackburn, ended in divorce. On Dec. 31, 1980, he married June Hill in Stillwater. Pace was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy and was very patriotic. He was an avid sports fan and loved his golf buddies in Stillwater and Illinois. Above all, he loved his family and wife. Pace attended and graduated from high school in Alton, Ill. He joined the Navy in 1941 and served as yeoman during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Medals he earned included Navy Good Conduct; American Defense; American Campaign; Asiatic Pacific; Victory Medal World War II; World War II Occupational Medal, Navy; National Defense Service; Philippine Liberation; and Philippine Independence. He was a member of VFW Post 1308 of Alton, Ill.; AARP; TR5 of Oklahoma; OEA; and Moose Lodge No. 2089. For 28 years, he worked at OSU. He was an engineering duplicating supervisor. He retired in 1986. Pace was a member of Sunnybrook Christian Church. He was predeceased by one son, Robert W. Pace; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Richard and Sherri Hill of Littleton, Colo.; five stepdaughters, Carol and Rick Moss, Debbie and Jim Stark and Jacque and Kevin Childers, all of Stillwater, Twila and Bob Teter of Oklahoma City and Pat and Chris McAlister of Pawnee; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jay, Ron and Jerry Pace, all of Stillwater, and Paul and Odell Pace, both of Cushing; one sister, Carol Heddlesten of Yale; two aunts, Lucy Magness and Mary Taylor of Paducah, Ky.
