Elwanda May Shipley 

Funeral services for Elwanda May Shipley, 80, of Cushing will be held at 2 
p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in 
Cushing. Dr. Verlyn Snell will preside. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. at 
the Little Cemetery in Little, Okla. 

Funeral services will be under the direction of the Palmer Funeral Home of 
Cushing. 

Born July 23, 1922 in McCaskill, Ark. to W. Rupert and May (Loomis) 
Gorham, she received her early education in the Blevins Schools and 
attended the Watson Business School. 

She was married to Corbet H. Shipley on June 5, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. She 
was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1948 and loved to 
travel. 

A homemaker Mrs. Shipley died on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the Cushing 
Regional Hospital. 

Survivors include two sons, Kent Shipley and Steve Shipley; one sister, 
Elsie York, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded by her parents; her husband Corbet on Feb. 19, 2003 and 
by brothers Earnest, Tracy and Norman, and one sister Mary Barrier.
