Joseph Sadler Services Held Wednesday Funeral services for Joseph A. Sadler were held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 10 1980 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. J. ?? Christian of the Oilton Free Church and Reverend ?? of Tulsa, both officiating. The Floyd Thronesberry family from Chandler provided the prelude, postlude and special songs including "How great thou art", "I will not be a stranger", and "Until Then". Grandsons of Mr. Sadler served as pallbearers. Interment under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home was at the Carney Cemetery. Mr. Sadler 80, of 114 East Freenlee passed away early Monday morning December 8, 1980 at his home. He was born January 14, 1890 at Gatewood Missouri and grew up on a farm there. On September 28, 1910 he married Daizy Rosenbalm and she preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1911. On Sept. 23, 1913 he married Idabell Isabell Gaither. In January 1919 they came to Oklahoma settling near Carney, where he was engaged in Farming and stock raising. In 1923 he was called to the Ministry and specialized in open air and brush Arbor Services. In 1933 they moved to the Cushing area and continued to farm until 1943. They then bought a home in Cushing, he was employed by Consolidated Gas Co. for 6 years before retiring in 1945. On March 6, 1955 his wife Idabell preceded him in death. On April 24, 1966 he married Edna Meyer. Surviving are his wife Edna of the home, six sons, James W.Sadler, and Conn J. Sadler of Cushing, Coy E. Sadler of Beaumont, TX. Russell E. Sadler of Edmond, J.D. Sadler of Perry, and Wallace Sadler of Stillwater. Two daughters Maxye ??? and Eletha Sherrod both of Tulsa, one stepson George E. Meyer of Braman OK. one step daughter Nellie Crain of Pond Creek, two brothers Henry Sadler of Perkins and Clarence Mason of Noble AR. Six sisters, Della Hackworth, Alva Hagar, all of Carney. Gertrude Miller of Stillwater, Tennie Hagar of Van-Buren AR. and Leta Ruminer of Shawnee, twenty five grand-children, 25 grat-grandchildren and other relatives.
