Stewart, 72, Coyle, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in his daughter's residence in Coyle. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hamlin Cemetery in Hamlin, Texas. Don Hisey will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Stewart was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Hico, Texas. He lived most of his adult life in Hamlin, where he worked in and around the oil field industry. He moved to Oklahoma in 1999. Stewart loved the Lord and his family, serving as a mason for 39 years. His accomplishments include being a past master of Blue Lodge. 958 from 1967 to 1968; serving as workshop chairman for four districts in 1968; serving as district deputy of District 75 in 1971. He held a certificate in the Esoteric Work for 30 years. He joined the Shrine in 1968 and is now demitted. He received the York Rite Bodies in 1968, which is now demitted. In 1967, he received the 32nd Scottish Rite Commandry Council and Eastern Star. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ray and Donald Stewart, and his wife, Louise. Stewart is survived by his son, Joe Stewart and wife Sarah, Ozona, Texas; three daughters, Frieta Boyce and husband Randall, Coyle, Marilyn Simpson and husband, Darold, Abilene, Texas, and Trish Hisey and husband Don, Abilene, Texas; one brother, Roy Stewart and wife Polly, Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Letha Williams, Lamesa, Texas; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
