All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== September 25, 1991 Headlines read: Ruth Smith Funeral services for Ruth (Eagles) Blackburn Smith 95 of Yale will be held at 2 p.m. Monday September 30, 1991 at the First Baptist Church in Yale. Rev. Warren Lamons pastor of the church will officiate at the church service and following interment will be under the direction of the Yale- Palmer Fuenral Home. Mrs. Smith was born March 22, 1896 in Indian Territory near Yale to Leonard and Olive (Swisher) Eagles. She met and was married to Albert Ray Blackburn in Stillwater. Mr. Blackburn preceded Ruth in death on July 22, 1979. She later met and was married to Harry Smith who also preceded her in death June 2, 1987. Mrs. Smith lived all of her life in the Yale area. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yale. She departed this life on Wednesday evening September 25, 1991 at the Stillwater Medical Center. Survivors include; 2 sons, Bruce Blackburn of Perkins, Oklahoma and Charles Blackburn of Yale Oklahoma. 2 sisters; Cassie Snell of Yale and Olive Wooden of Columbus, Ohio. 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
