All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== March 4, 2003 Helen Mae Warfield Tulsa resident Helen Mae Warfield, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at St. John's Hospital. A celebration of life and resurrection was held today at the Church of the Shepherd United Methodist Church in Tulsa. She was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on April 28, 1918 to Sam Henry and Iva Maria (Blade) Gilbreath. On Jan. 29, 1939, she married Stanley M. Warfield Sr. in Tulsa. She had a tremendously honest and direct spirit. Her personality was enhanced by a deep sense of compassion, love and adoration for her family, friends and church and her grandchildren were the light of her life She possessed a feisty wit and could be painfully honest with her opinions. She had an unbridled zest for living. Her many wonderful qualities were reflected in the beautiful, vibrant colors she chose to wear as well as in the many creations that resulted from her crafting profession. She enjoyed making crafts and collecting dolls. She loved being around people and she would always do what she could to bring out the creative juices in others through crafts. Even after she retired from Rathbone's Flair Flowers and Gifts she continued making bows and roses for Christmas and Memorial Day. She was known to have made 30,000 bows and 300 roses a year. She enjoyed Branson, country music, traveling and Elvis. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, John Richard (Buck) Gilbreath, and a son, Gene. She is survived by her husband, Stanley, of 64 years, and one son, Stanley (Stan) M. Warfield Jr. and his wife Frances of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Austin and his wife Cristy of Bethany, Colin and his wife Angela of Jacksonville, Fla. and Karin of Stillwater and her fiance Darrin Davis of Broken Arrow; a special niece, Kathy Moore and her daughter Candyce of Tulsa, and a step-great-grandson, Mitchell Perry of Bethany. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Payne County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/payne/payne.html
