All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Cushing OK Cushing Daily Citizen April 02, 2007 06:26 pm Clara Jane Wells Clara Jane Wells, age 84 a longtime Cushing resident passed away on Saturday, Mar. 31, 2007 at the Drumright Hospital. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Fairlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Clara Jane was born on Aug. 23, 1922 in Jennings, Oklahoma to the late Tom and Stella (Hitch) Broadston. Clara graduated from Drumright High School in 1941. Clara married Lloyd Wells on Dec. 2, 1954 in Drumright, Okla. Clara retired from Arkla Gas in the late 80's. Clara was a life member of the VFW Post 1118 Women's Auxiliary since 1988 where she served as president for seven years, also serving as trustee and secretary of the auxiliary. She loved going to the lake and hanging out with friends or her grandchildren. Clara loved watching football - all football games - favored O.U. though… also Clara's favorite singer was Alan Jackson. Clara is survived by her daughter Karen Jo Calkins and husband Doug of Cushing, sons Curtis Goddard and wife Judy of Cushing, Lloyd Wells and wife Kay of Ponca City, grandchildren Brian Calkins, Scott Goddard, Brad Goddard, Christopher, Darren, Nathan and Dewayne Wells, great grandchildren McKenna Kate and Kaden Calkins, Dillon, Dalton, and Jade Goddard, Colin and Chelsea Dawn Goddard, Madison Wells and Chris Wells, great great grandchildren Christopher Polk III and Karlan Polk. Her parents preceded Clara in death; husband Floyd Wells, sister Gladys Phillips and good friend Richard Clarin.
