The cemetery is located behind Tannehill Freewill Baptist Church. Directions to the cemetery are as follows: From west Carl Albert Parkway in McAlester, Oklahoma turn north on West Street, which runs in front of the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. In front of the penitentiary, turn right onto Stonewall, go to the stop sign, turn left on Talawanda Street and follow Talawanda around past the prison cemetery. Continue along that road until you get to the one-lane bridge. After the one-lane bridge, the road splits and you need to go left and follow the signs for Tannehill.. Approximately 2 miles further along Tannehill Road, you'll see the church on the left.
