All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Greenlawn Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Altenhofel, Waneta Louise "Mickye" Waneta Louise (Mickye) Altenhofel Services: Wed., Feb. 8, 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 8, at 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Cemetery at 3700 River Boulevard for Waneta Louise (Mickye) Altenhofel, who passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006. Mickye was born December 2, 1935 in Canadian, Oklahoma. A longtime Bakersfield resident, Mickye touched the hearts and lives of all who came to know her. She worked most of her life as a mother and waitress, car-hopping at Stan's, waiting tables at Farmer John's, Milt's, Zingo's, Sandy's, and Truckstops of America, Mickye also managed the Pantry coffee shop and the Rancho Bakersfield restaurant. She worked as a bartender at the Executive Lounge and the Westfair. Before she retired, she graduated from the Bakersfield Adult School and worked at AFSA Data Corp. Mickye was known for her sense of humor and quick wit. She bowled in local leagues for many years. She was proud to call RiverLakes Community Church her church home where she attended Women's Bible Study. She was a renowned cook and enjoyed hosting family holiday dinners. She was surrounded by her family at the end of her time on earth, and she is now with our Lord. Mickye was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Curliss, and is survived by her father, Lloyd Curliss of Bakersfield; daughter, Drey Altenhofel of Nashville, TN; sons, Charles Altenhofel and Kevin Altenhofel and wife, Jennifer; grandsons, David and wife, Jasmine, Jared and wife, Caitlin, Josh, Sonny, Fred, and Timmy, and great- granddaughter, Scarlett, all of Bakersfield. She is also survived by four sisters, Peggy Lauderdale of Selma, CA, Polly Phillips of Wewoka, OK, Patricia Orchid of Magnolia, TX and Penny Moore of Fresno, CA.
